Do NOT go to this Salon!!! I am a young Executive in the Baltimore area and because of the nature of my job, I rarely have time to go to the Salon. Two weekwnds ago, I happened to be in a wedding so I definitely wanted to get my hair done. Due to my hectic schedule, the only time I could squeeze in to get my hair done was on a Friday Morning right before a very important meeting in Upper Marlboro. My meeting was at 11:30am so I researched Salons in the area where I could get my sew in done prior to the meeting. I found this Salon also called House of Hair Extensions. I have been to a Weaves Etc in Baltimore County and had good service so I figured this couldn't be too bad. Their information online states that they opened at 9am and they accepted walk ins. That Friday, I showed up at 9:05am. At 9am, I was in the area but had a bit of trouble finding the actual building so I called their phone number and it went straight to a general mailbox. This salon advertizes that it is open for business at 9am meaning someone should be answering your phones at 9am. I called until about 9:07am and no one answered. I eventually asked by standers and they showed me where the Salon was. I walked in and there was a young man doing twists for his client. He asked me what I wanted done and I told him. He said the weave stylist was not there yet but he would give her a call on her cell. He called her in front of me, letting her know she had a Customer. She said she would be there in 15 mins. I was pressed for time but I figured I could wait 15 mins. This was at 9:07am. As of 9:30am, the stylist still had not shown up. I told the Male Stylist to please call her and find out where she was because I was on a tight schedule. He called her again and handed the phone to me. Her name was Shay, she asked me what I wanted done, I explained it to her and told her that I had to be out of there by 10:45am at the latest. She said she could get it done and gave some excuse about having to stop at the store but said she would be at the shop in 10 minutes. I said ok. I was already there so I figured I would wait since nothing else in the area was open that early. As of 9:47am (17 minutes after I spoke with Shay) she still had not arrived. Keep in mind, this is 40 mins from when she initially said she would be there in 15 mins. At that point, I thanked the Male Stylist, picked up my hand bag and left. When I got outside, I sat in my car for another 10 mins to see if she would walk in, I didn't want to leave and have just missed her by a minute or two but she never showed. I am one who loves to support Black Businesses but I deserve the same treatment or better that I would receive at other Businesses if I am to continue to do so. Your establishment opens at 9am, why aren't you there at 9am. Why do Customers have to wait for you for an hour? This is very unprofessional and I typically do not spend time doing online reviews but this was called for. Shay, my advise to you would be to learn what Professionalism means and act accordingly. You will not be successful if you carry on the way that you represented yourself and your business that day. If you can not accomodate walk ins, then do not advertise your Salon as being able to do so. Hire more employees because it appeared that only 2 people worked there. 1 was on time working and the other was out handling personal matters on business time. If I was your Boss, you would be out of a job for such behavior. This was my 1st time and would absolutely be my last time in this establishment.

Terrible! I cant speak on everyone there but Tamara is the WORST "professional" weave installer Ive come across! First of all she put a U shape cornrow at the top of my head where my leave out is located then the rest of the braids were done going down which is the correct wat to do them so when she did the sewin everything laid nice and flat EXCEPT where she put the top cornrow which was a huge lump! ANY weaver worth their weight in installing knows this is incorrect!there were huge gaps in between the tracks that I noticed once I got home and just a over all bad install! the top was so lumpy and the gap between the lump cornrow and the corect cornrow was so big I had to GLUE a track in between so that u couldnt see my scalp thru the tracks!!! I had to finally sew on a closure I just so happen to have the next morning befor work ju so my hair looked presentable. I will NEVER EVER EVER go back there again!!!

This place is a rip off, unnecessarily expensive, and $50 sew in is a lie!! You are better off going to an actual cosmetologist paying regular price. The staff are just braiders that take forever and do more damage to your hair than they do good. Not only did I not like my hair, I also had hell taking it down because of the poor job that was done. Save your money STAY AWAY FROM WEAVE ETC IN CAMP SPRINGS!!!!

This salon has too many employees and not enough clientele. Beacause of this, the consumer will find herself getting charged extra in hidden fees! The staff is NOT professional and very rough around the edges.

I found this place through another review for another hair salon. I was considerring going to WEX but read some not so favorable reviews and in one of the reviews she mentioned this place. So I went to check them out and thought I would pay it forward by doing a review. Ok...so I called to make my appointment and the young lady who answered the phone was very helpful and very willing to answer my dumb questions. Sorry, I don't remember names. I showed up to the salon and I was caught off gaurd a little by the bare bones appearance of the salon. The impression I received from the website was that they were WELL established. However, the actual salon looks as if they just started yesterday. Not a lot of products or equipment. But it was VERY clean. Ok, I was in there for about 5 minutes and then I was put right into a chair. The braider was AWESOME! OMG. She braided my hair so quick and just the right tightness...not too tight but just right. The she sewed me up just as quick and moved me on to who I think is the master stylist in the shop. I was getting a cut and she was the only one who could do it at the time I was there. The floor manager relayed EXACTLY what I wanted to her based on our earlier conversation and she began to cut my hair. All of the ladies were very pleasant to be around for the two hours I was there....yes I said two hours...that's all. The one suggestion I would make to these ladies is that they should work on their knowledge of natural and curly hair both real and weave. I am natural and I got a curly weave. My hair will naturally curl with water and a little of the right product. The ladies didn't really pick up on this and instead flat ironed my leave out and then put mousse (with alcohol...a no no for natural hair) in it. Other than that I LOVED them and will be going back again! BTW, I love my hair too...it's exactly how I envisioned it.
