The Car Shop

1- I bought a battery from them. It didn't last a year, so I returned it. The mechanic, without testing it first, didn't believe that the battery was bad. I told him that I got it tested at Checker. He wanted to charge me $15 to test it. I told him that it was tested at Checker. He told me that he doesn't trust the people who work for Checker and made derogatory remarks about them. I refused to $15 for them to hook it up to a machine (the same machine that Checker uses).



After he got finished talking down to me, about how I and Checker employees didn't know anything about cars, he ended up testing the battery for free, and low and behold, it was bad. I got a new battery at a pro-rated rate of $44.



Let's see: $44 + $15 = $59!



If I would have paid the $15, then it would have been close to the same price as the battery.



2- During that ordeal, another mechanic told me that two belts were bad and recommended that I replace them. I just got them replaced at another shop. Thinking the other shop didn't replace them, I went back to them in which he assured me that they were replaced. I also got another shops option to confirm.



Bottom line: Do take your car here.
