Great place! Rose and Tim and their staff are all wonderful. The exterior is classy, down home and welcoming, the entrance is very inviting, the fragrance coming from the kitchen is most appetizing, and the dining room table placement and size is perfect. The Pickin Hall has real, live bluegrass picking and wonderful pickers on Friday and Saturday nights as well as jam sessions at various other times. About the food... The specialty is Italian (Rose is a living, breathing Chicago Italian), and excellent. They do have some American dinners as well that are also very pleasing. They call it Italian Southern Style. The salads are huge and the house dressing is an excellent vinaigrette and other excellent dressings are available. Two young people said that the pizzas are awesome. The Italian sausage plate is wonderful and spicy as is the Italian Beef plate, which along with the Roast Beef Plate are my favorites. Portions... aint nobody leavin hungry, as one rather substantial fella pointed out to me. Considering that you get great food, outstanding service, excellent entertainment, for less than $15 per person, well, you know... For my money, anytime is a good time, really.
