Since Farm & Home was sold to Suburban Propane the service has become absolutely horrible!! My 80+ mother (whose on their automatic plan) was allowed to run out of heating oil in December. Since then they our home run out of heating oil & propane! I even called two weeks before these run-outs occurred & I didn't get any results till I was actually out! It doesn't seem to matter to them if you pay your bills on time or not. They only seem to provide you the product you need when you run out & you call to report it.

My 70+ year old parents are longtime customers and are supposed to be receiving REGULAR oil deliveries! For whatever reason, they haven't been getting their oil and are in DANGER OF FREEZING TO DEATH! Why have you stopped delivering oil to your customers? My mom told me that they faithfully pay their oil bills in a timely manner.

Every year I call several oil companys to get prices for oil and service contracts. Whoever gives me the best price, gets my business. I used F&H two years ago and they did a fine job. Last year I was with another local, larger company and it took them nearly 10 hours to come out for service. Last winter wasn't even cold. The winter before when we had one snowstorm after another, we used F&H, they were out within 3 hours.



They gave me the best price this year so they're getting my business.

My propane bill was literally 3x per gallon what ANY of my neighbors are paying with other companies. I called and spoke to a polite lady whose name I cannot remember and she lowered my gallon price and I asked her why they hadn't just been charging me the lower price as I had been over paying for years. She was very polite and I got the impression she is just doing what she is told. By the new price she gave me, I calculated I have overpaid just under $1,000 in the past 4-5 years. Unfair. Called back to cancel service as I feel this is an unethical practice and got a very rude and abrupt Jennifer. Not a good listener. Must not be originally from this area. I have to pay for tank removal. Says I cannot have tank removed myself. Claims it is illegal. I checked with authorities and they say it is not illegal as long as empty! Trying to nickel and dime me to death and bleed me dry for every sent. When Longacres owned this company, I was with them for years. They were fantastic! They sold to Buckeye and now it is shady city greed!

Unethical and dishonest. Really Bad! Stay away from this supplier! Check your bills if you are a customer.

I would like to commend Farm and Home's customer service -- I phoned up about my propane plan for the 2011-2012 winter season and talked with the nicest lady and she sent out a contract to us immediately -- she was very helpful and very friendly -- a wonderful combo -- keep up the great work!

In 2008 we decided to replace our oil burner. We shopped around to check prices. Farm and Home was very competitive. We had the old burner removed and a new system installed by Dan and Doc. One of them was leaving for vacation. We knew they were anxious to get finished. They actually ended up staying late on a Friday night to get the job completed, so we would not be torn up for a couple extra days.

Stay away! Every October they send out a paper with more and more ridiculous charges to become effective immediately such as $99 per man per hour to remove their 100 gallon propane tank if I want to leave company and they do not reimburse for any gas remaining in tank. They put a lock on my gas tank after I paid $350 for propane delivery. They said it was for my own good because I allowed my tank to run out of gas and there could be a leak. Their charge for a leak test is $89.00 and $89.00 for service trip charge. They overcharge by up to $1.00 more a gallon for fireplace propane and they now charge $3.93 delivery fee and $2.00 fuel surcharge each delivery. I was with company since 2002 and had no problems until Buckeye bought them out in 2008. When they changed my delivery schedule in 2009 without notifying me I ran out of gas. They didn't lock my tank that time because it was their fault, but the girl I spoke to denied they let me run out even though my pilot light went out due to empty tank after they missed my delivery.

Their drivers are RECKLESS! ALMOST RAN US OFF THE Road in Bethlehem Twp PA - would not trust them to deliver oil if they drive like that!

10 minutes of work - $90.00 diagnostic fee PLUS $44.00 labor. No materials used - just 10 minutes of work. Billing equivalent of $804/hour for a guy to turn a wrench.

Lets just put it this way.. I inquired to PRE PAY for oil purchased, to BUY OIL, pay them in advance, fill my tank and be done with the transaction, no credit, no nothing... they said no. I understand I made mistakes with credit when younger and trying to fix it. I merely wanted to buy a product, pay in advance, and move on.. not only that the woman on the phone was so rude. extremely over the top ignorant and I can not believe they hire somebody like this.

BE CAREFUL! if you use this company make sure you watch the price they are charging you. I was a prepay customer but ran out and the next delivery they charged .40 a gallon more than the market rate. I even called them and was quoted a price .40 cheaper than what they delivered. they will nickel and dime you totally unfair business practices
