I am a father, having an even split schedule with my children’s mother (sharing joint legal custody - including medical care). One of my children has been seeing Gale for 9 months total, 7 of those strictly during his mothers parenting time. During the first 7 months of service I was never contacted by Gale. Despite being known and the insurance provider (my name on the insurance card), during that 7 months Gale did not contact me or seek to learn about my son’s behavior while in my care (nor from care takers and teachers). Over the course of 2 weeks I attempted to contact Gale multiple times without success. After establishing contact I expressed concerns of not being contacted by her; these concerns were quickly disregarded. After multiple contacts I was able to arrange an in-person visit. Upon arrival I found the facility’s grounds to be hazardous and unsanitary (boat, car, and other tools and mechanical parts strewn about the grounds, broken walkway, and animal feces throughout the entryway and nearby environments - where children are likely to wander). Upon entering the home the conditions did not improve. The “waiting area” was very messy, filthy with animal debris, items piled haphazardly, and again, animal feces on the floor (not a healthy or save environment for young children). During the meeting Gale facilitated and encouraged a discussion pertaining to the children’s mother, despite the children being in the room. After the meeting I provided Gale a written request that she provide me a written outline of the treatment my child is receiving, summary of any finding, and professional recommendations. I also requested (in writing) that she interview my child’s teachers and care providers. During the meeting’s closure I expressed I was disappointed in her facilitating a conversation about their mother with the children present; she quickly disregarded the action and positioned the fault on me, for my participation in the conversation. For this, I am extremely disappointed with Gale (and myself!). (I have never experienced such a disappointing situation with a social worker, counselor, therapist, or psychologist.)
It has been four weeks since the above described appointment. I have not received contact, requested documentation, and, to my knowledge, none of my son’s teachers or care providers have been interviewed. Only recently (this month) have I received a billing for the last 10 month of services.
I would rate Gale’s professional and business conduct as a zero on a five star scale. Her follow up, facilities, professionalism, business, and conduct are all extremely unprofessional. I am very concerned about what I experience and, In addition to this review, I am reporting Gale’s facility to the local health authority (filthy facility), safety authority (hazardous environment), and State Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (professional conduct).
Once again, I have been attempting to work with Gale for the last 2 months with little to no responsiveness. Unfortunately, my medical insurance company (billing) has received more contact from Gale than I in the last 2 months.
