- Mariners has been part of the Upper Keys community since 1962, when it opened its doors as a nine-bed physicians' clinic. Today, Mariners is a 42-bed, community hospital with more than 90 staff physicians whose specialties include internal and family medicine, dermatology, pediatrics, gynecology, cardiology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, general surgery, neurology, pulmonology and urology. Within the hospital, we have a medical-surgical unit, an intensive care unit, and outpatient surgery, as well as hyperbaric medicine, wound recovery and outpatient diagnostic testing.
