I purchased a vintage sewing machine through a yard sale, wanting to finally begin learning how to sew - something I've been yearning to do for many years. Now, with 2 kids and a dream of one day sewing outfits for them like my mom used to do, I decided to tackle this bucket list item. After 3 hours, I finally figured out how to thread it and lift the bobbin string! Imagine my disappointment when, just getting my first stitch on, the whole thing just freezes. Sheryl from O'Brien's not only quickly fixed the problem (bobbin, of course) but also took the time to explain the basics to me. She is very knowledgable and friendly, and I highly recommend! I plan on keeping her on speed dial LOL
I bought a 1980's sewing machine on Craiglist and used it a few times, realizing it needed serviced. I'm so thankful I found O'Brien's on the Yellow Pages! She calls when she says, and shows up when she says. It's very convenient that she comes to your home! Aside from cleaning, oiling, tightening the machine, she showed me the different settings and gave me tips on sewing different fabrics, and what size needles should be used for the different fabrics. I highly recommend this family company for all your sewing machine care needs.
O'Brien's have been servicing my sewing machines and sergers in Tampa for many years. They are wonderful to deal with. They schedule with you in advance, give you a 2 hour window, come when they say they will be there, do what they say they are going to do, go the extra mile to solve my problem, are very reasonably priced, and the work and repairs are done right and last. I can't say enough good things about them. I will not have anyone but O'Brien's work on my sewing machines and sergers.
