We called Red Cap plumbing to do some general work in our house (fix a toilet, unclog a drain, and take a look at a broken fixture). You should be aware that their estimate is only free if you choose to have them do the work in your home. Otherwise, they charge you a non-refundable service charge to have somebody come out and look at your problem. If you have the work done, they waive this fee. The man who came out was prompt and professional, showed up on the same day, and quickly fixed most of our issues. I am unsure if I like how he gave us a price up front for our issues and did not charge by the hour or not. I suspect for people with work that may take several hours, it may be cost effective to have flat pricing for their issue regardless of hours of labor required, however, for people like us it may have been cheaper to be charged for the labor of less than a half hour and the parts. I cannot really speak about how this compares to other companies, however, because I am unsure of how others price their work. Red Cap charged around two hundred dollars for these issues. Even so, he was very nice and gave us a discount even though we couldn't print out their coupon from the website. The only reason I did not give the company five stars is because he was going to give us a price quote on a part that he could not fix and on maintenance for our sink and he failed to call us back. I am sure he just forgot or overlooked it, however, I was hoping that he could find the part and come out and fix our last problem.

Mr. Olin is such a professional. He does the job correctly and his prices are very competitive and has a 1 yr warranty. He stayed at my job until it was fixed, even though I had more than one problem and he quoted me for only one. At the end, I offered to pay more, but he refused. A different plumbing company had previously done some plumbing for us several years back. Apparently, they had not used any adhesive on the pvc pipes in the wall behind my laundry room, drywalled over it and left. I recently renovated that room, patching and painting the drywall and reflooring. After that was done, I (thankfully?) developed a clog in the drain. Derek came, fixed the clog and then ended up finding that those pvc pipes were never cemented together and were still leaking. He fixed that as well. I cannot imagine after all the work we did renovating that room that it would have leaked and damaged the wall and floor all over again. I am so thankful we found him.
I called Red Cap at midnight because I had a blockage in my sewer line. First thing the next morning Nick was at my house. Very professional and personalbe. Nick explained all of my price options for resolving my issue. Because I do not know the location of my cleanout, Nick had to go up on the roof (the alternative being to remove a toilet and go in that way). Normally no big deal, but I have a tile roof. I signed a waiver saying I would not hold Red Cap responsable if any tiles got broken in the process. Not only were no tiles broken, but Nick got his equipment on the roof and got the job done without so much as a footprint. Thank you Red Cap for fixing my problem in a timely manner and at a rate that I felt was very reasonable.
