Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Services is by far the best veterinary clinic I have ever experienced! I consider my dog, Max, my child and he means the world to me. Unfortunately, an accident occurred resulting in a bowel obstruction due to a foreign object. After having surgery at another facility, complications ensued and he became very ill. We rushed him to TBVES, where Dr. Michelle Lentovich and her staff assessed Max. He was in septic DIC, which has an exceptionally low survival rate even in human patients. I was basically a complete mess and the staff was compassionate. Dr. Lentovich went over the options with me, but never gave up hope. Not only did she stay hours past the end of her shift to finish Max’s surgery, but she also saved his life. His chances of survival were still going to be questionable over the next several weeks. Max had a feeding tube, JP drains, a central line, and many different medications. Dr. Lentovich allowed Max to live there 24/7 so he could be continuously monitored by the staff. She would come in on her off days and off hours just to see how he doing and also cooked him food from her own kitchen to see if that would help him eat. Her daughters also created art for max’s IV wrapping! I was there for hours each day spending time with Max while he recovered and the entire staff at TBVES was amazing! They all genuinely cared about how he and I were doing! To top it all off, Dr. Lentovich and Dr. Kathy Meyer, the veterinary director, helped me tremendously by finding a charity fund to assist in offsetting a substantial portion of the veterinary costs. I can never repay them for saving Max’s life and the kindness they showed me. Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Services is the only place I would take Max! They are amazing!!!!

I advise people to NEVER take their animals to this place, they claim they'll help you, but they are only there for the MONEY! I took my 10 month old dog there today she was having seizures my fiancee told the nurse over the phone we did not had any money at the time for any exams, but that we could pay them back on Friday for their services, the nurse told us they can work with us financially. When we got there they told us the rates were from $655 to $995 and they needed at least $500 up front, we did not had that kind of money the only amount we had was $100 in cash. They asked us to apply for credit (which we did we applied for Care credit and got declined at the first emergency vet we took our dog) then the nurse asked if we could call someone who might be able to loan us money (we did that and I only got the $100 from my mother, no one else could come up with $500 for us) we told her there was no one else to help us with the amount. They told us that unfortunately they could not help us and they recommended us to go take our dog to the Humane Society the nurse told us they would check us out and we can take her with us. They charged us $145 dollars for the shot to stop the seizure (which the first dosed she got on the first emergency vet we took her at 4am was done FREE due to our financial situation.) Now we owe them $45 dollars which they will take on Friday when we get paid. What is more upsetting is the letter they wrote to Dr. NRV stating that we took her home against their medical advise, that we declined all their services offered (when they were the ones who said they cannot help us if we don't have MONEY), they wrote that we declined to make phone calls asking our family for money or taking a loan stating we did not made any "physical efforts" (when we specifically TOLD them we got declined for credit care and we made phone calls to EVERYONE before we arrived there and we only received $100 which they took at the time of checkout). After taking our dog to three different dog hospitals we ended at the Humane Society in Tampa Bay, they were able to work with us and they will take the money we owe them on our payday Friday, they were VERY kind and understood our financial situation, I love my dog more than anything in the world and when people are really working to save dogs the first priority should be taking care of the dog before any money, I recomend the humane society 10 times more than this greedy money interesting place, they will only help you if you have money, if you don't, don't even bother going there is a waste of your time!

A+ HIGHEST QUALITY VET SERVICE! PERIOD!

BULLDOG - That breed (Grand Champion or not!) itself is synonymous with the word - VETERINARIAN.

I will follow that statement with this FACT!

I will ALWAYS take my ultra premium fed, well groomed bi-weekly, medically necessary - physician prescribed - Registered Service Animal for my debilitating condition to TBVES!

Dr. Kathleen Meyer is ABSOLUTELY my MOST trusted source of accurate diagnosis for my devoted companion.

Since traveling EXTENSIVELY and having to utilize world wide veterinary (emergency) care. It is NOW easy for me to verify, appreciate, even glorify my (sometimes seemingly routine) although just as scary emergency service calls.

But consistent, reliable, honest, accurate, and sometimes seemingly simple diagnosis.

The staff ALWAYS are VERY observant and immediately show EXTREME compassion to calmly help relieve the obvious extreme panic in front of them.

Simply stated: PRICELESS!

Based on previous other ER VET Clinics - would reccommend

I have taken my dog here a handful of times. The charges are not outrageous. The clinic is very clean. The staff is friendly and of course the Dr. is trustworthy and listens to your specific needs and situations.

Chihuahua puppies

My chihuahua went into labor three hours into it we brought her here cause her regular vet office was closed. They took x-rays of her and right away wanted to do a c-section on her which cost 1000 dollars and if they didnt do it the puppies could rupture her insides cause of the way they were positioned we told them would could only put a 75 dollar down payment and the final say was left to the vet, well she declined us and was pretty much letting our dog sit there in agony and pretty much kill herself trying to deliver these puppies, she finally gave birth to the first one and I had to take the sack off of the puppy cause there was no vet or vet assistant in the room, they were pretty much letting us do it when we had no idea what to do, a minute later after we used the buzzer a assistant came in a if we would of waited the puppy would of died cause our chi didnt know what to do the assistant took the puppy away to be put in a incubator after it was sitting there getting cold for 5 minutes, about twenty minutes later she was pushing the second one out and it was coming out feet first so we gave another buzz and the vet finally came back in and helped getting the puppy out.

So at the end of it all they charged us 130 dollars when they knew we could only afford 75, they were holding the puppies hostage in the back room until we payed the 130 dollars, we had to pay it putting our bank account into negative to get the puppies, a lady came out with a syringe box with the puppies inside, I was appalled at this there were no holes in it for them to breath or anything, The bottom line is this place just cares about money not about the well being of your pet, if you don't have enough money they wont work with you at all or they will hold your pet hostage until you pay them the money you didn't agree upon look elsewhere.
