Moving nightmare, everything went wrong.

Movers were 2 hrs late. He sent 2 guys to move 5 bedroom house and expected them to finish !!!!!

Works his employees to exhaustion,the owner Tom is scam artist, this is the most illegal company I have ever experienced. We spent 1,300 dollars and got over 3,000 dollars damaged (king size beauty rest mattress, and Tiffany lamps)

Not to mention nothing got assembled and us wit our 5 children had to sleep on the floor!

Give yourself a favor do not use them. The price of 95 dollars per hour is not worth it

The owner of this company runs his men around like dogs with no breaks. Expects them to work a 22 hr shift then be back at work in 2 -3 hours. Never tells the guys the truth about the jobs (how long it will take) cause he doesnt ask the right queations himself. Slum boss

If there was an option to put zero stars, I would do it. These guys run a scam. not a "family business". I just hired them last monday to move me. In the process, the 2 guys they sent worked less than quickly, making it cost more since you pay by the hour. Several phone breaks occurred. Oh, and they didn't pad a very expensive fish tank, which broke during the 10 minute drive to the new place and left a basketball-sized hole in my $650 fish tank. The owner Tommy Suggs told me that day not to worry, because he promises he will make it right. Their solution?? To pay me 60 cents per POUND of my broken item. First of all, paying per an items weight is stupid. Something very heavy, like an old mattress, could be worth only $25. Or a pair of $20,000 earrings could weight less than one pound - so does that mean they'd pay 60 cents to replace the earrings? or $800 for the old heavy mattress?? Paying based on an items weight its ridiculous. In my case, they deemed my tank weighed 150 pounds, and so offered $90, for a tank that cost me $650 a few years ago and now costs around $800-$900. The tank was destroyed due to the negligence of the not-so-smooth movers. NO padding was used - on a fish tank!!! I'm not a professional mover, but glass and acrylic seem like stuff that should be padded. They probably decided a 10 minute trip wasn't worth their effort to place pads around it. So, now I'm out the $435 plus tip for my move, plus a very expensive fish tank. These people suck. Do yourself a favor - find an enemy to move you - you'll be in better hands... Hate to spew anger like this, but even more, I hate being screwed and cheated and lied to.

I handle facilities for 40 offices across the US and Canada and often work with moving companies. The Smoother Mover is by far one of the worst moving companies I've hired.





My company needed a little help moving furniture around the office so I thought the Smoother Mover’s 2 men for $60 an hour would be perfect. I found a couple good reviews online so I scheduled with Tom several days in advance, he said he’d send 2 people with 2 dollies, shrink wrap & a basic tool kit. When the day came they arrived 3 hours late without any equipment. Being that they didn't get to our office until 5:00 PM I had to pay people overtime to stay with them. When they finished and it came time to settle up they didn't have a receipt for the service and the crew had the nerve to ask for a tip.





When I called Tom and complained about his crew he didn't seem to care. Since they didn't leave a receipt Tom said he would e-mail one to me. What I got barely qualifies, it was a text only e-mail that didn't identify his company name and on top of that they misspelled my name and my company’s name. I e-mailed back asking for something that at least showed the Smoother Mover info with the correct spelling of the names and didn't get a response. I called to ask for it and only got voice-mail without a return call. I guess Tom is avoiding me.

Me and my husband moved from Bloomfield Hills Michigan to Tampa Florida last spring and we hired The Smoother Movers. From the start I was a nervous wreck....Dennis ( owner ) of the Detroit location assured me that all of my moving needs would be met. They had the packing crew come 2 days prior to the actual move date. The packing crews were TOP NOTCH. All female staff that truly appreciated my personal belongings. The day had arrived for everything to be moved. I cried when the movers loaded the last piece of furniture into the moving truck. My husband and I raised 4 children in that home I explained...just then Dennis walked up and put his hand on my shoulder and said you have a beautiful home and I'm sure that the new family that moves in here will enjoy all the great memories you have had. I felt as if my heart melted. As hard as it was to move to our condo in Tampa just those little words of encouragement from a gentlemen that truly cared about his job touched my heart. The move went off without a single issue. A true pleasure to have been moved by The Smoother Movers.
