Rude Staff, Incompetent Manager

Customers may not always be ""right"" but they do deserve to be treated with respect- we were not. I also cannot stand when a restaurant runs or participates in a promotion but does not want to honor it, or adds additional stipulations. To make a long story short, we we charged $5 for a small bottle of water-which we did not ask for. And were told that our 50% of all food coupon was not valid at the bar and could only be used with entree purchases- none of this is written on the coupon card. Worst of all, the bar tender threw the cash my dad handed her back at him when I question the water charge and presented her my coupon card. Let's just say it took everything in me not to act out of character. I will NEVER return to this unprofessional, overpriced ""restaurant.""

Poor Service and Overpriced Food

I found this place through a gift certificate I purchased on restaurant com. When we initially arrived, we were warmly greeted and seated by a friendly older gentleman, who promptly returned to our table after seating us with something to put until the leg of our table so it didnt wobble. Too bad that kind man wasnt our server, too. \r \r THE DIGS\r The location was great, and the restaurant was clean, and quite lovely inside, with a wall of windows overlooking the waterway and downtown Tampa, and another wall of murals.\r \r THE SERVICE\r Our server was a slim, dark haired man. I don't know if he had an attitude because we were using a gift certificate, or what, but it was the worst service I think I've ever had, and I eat out multiple times a week. We arrived shortly after 7:00 pm. He didn't take our order until after 7:30 pm. He had one other table, and apparently was more concerned about serving them than us. He took my husband's empty diet coke glass and didn't bring a refill until 20 minutes later. Our food didn't arrive until after 8:00. He topped off my water glass once while we were waiting on the food. Then never again. By the end of the meal (pushing 8:30), my water glass was empty, as was both glasses of the other couple dining with us. And my husband's diet coke was empty again. Thankfully my husband's not a big water drinker, so I had his water, too. Because we used the restaurant com gift certificate, the server automatically added an 18% tip for himself. Normally, I tip 20%, but this guy was barely worth $1, so he won that round. Don't worry...I won't be back for another round. \r \r THE FOOD\r I ordered Fettuccini Bolognese (pasta with meat sauce), which was $17.95, and my husband had a pasta dish with sausage for $16.95. Both were mediocre -- I've had better at Romano's Macaroni Grill for 1/2 the price.

I do not normally write reviews however, That's Amore is the worst Italian Restaurant I have ever eaten at. For starters, we ordered a cheese pizza and realized very quickly that it was a TOMBSTONE Pizza you would get at Publix. So, we decided to order a mushroom, onion and sausage pizza to see if it was the same. YES!!! They took the cheese pizza and added pieces of raw red onion, pieces of some sort of sausage and canned mushrooms! My husband and I looked at eachother in AWE!! That's Amore dip was a tapenade from a jar and my mussels were greasy and tasteless. Lucky for That's Amore we were with friends and did not want to make a scene so we paid the $118!!! How this place stays open and cheats amazes me!! To all the residents of Tampa Bay DO NOT EAT at THAT""S AMORE!!!! Do not give these ""FAKE""italians your hard earned money!! The food was awful that it compelled me to wirte this review and the price for it made me angry. So I am warning everyone to not get taken by this so called ""Italian"" restaurant.
