Attempted (and almost successful) RIP OFF! I had a nail in my tire and was not losing air but wanted to get it patched. They took it in the back and told me they could not patch it and it is losing air and needs to be replaced. I agreed and purchased a tired for $233. I asked to keep they old tire which they agreed. I paid for the tire and the work was completed. When I got home I inspected the old tire and found that the nail had not punctured all the way through. SO HOW IS IT LOSING AIR! I went back to the store the next day to ask questions. The manager took me in the back and tested the tire and no leak was found. The put back on my old tire and took back the new tire and refunded my money. They essentially tried to STEAL from me after lying to me! Is this how this company does business? The least they could have done was offer me a discount on a future purchase or something after lying to me. Oh well! I will NEVER go back here! Good job Kaufman and staff!
I must say that Kaufman Tires is the best car service company by far. Mr. Reyes (sales associate) was very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable!. I went in for tires and got and awesome deal. I have returned multiple times and still receieve GREAT service. If you want to deal with honest trustworty people Kaufman tires in New Tampa is the place to go. Trust me!!!. I took my van to Kaufman Tire today Sat Mar 12 2011 because I ran over a large nail and my tire was leaking air.
The guy at the desk came out looked at my tire and said I needed a new tire.
The hole he said was too big to patch. Huh?? I said.
He told me his cheapest tire was $120.
I could buy a new tire or he could fill my leaking tire with air. He talked about liability etc etc.
I knew my tire was fixable so I asked for air.
I knew there was another tire place further north on Bruce B Downs.
While another employee filled my tire he looked at the nail stuck in my tire.
He told me they couldnt fix it because it was too close to the wall of the tire.
A different reason given for not patching my tire from the first fellow.
IMO I think they just didnt want to be bothered.
Repairing a flat tire was little money.
I think it was unforgivable that he didnt say so.
Instead he told me they couldnt repair my tire and my options were either to buy a tire for $120 or he could fill my leaking tire with air and send me on my merry way.
I went to TirePlus up the street on the left.
No problem. They patched it for me.
I had a thirty minute wait because they were busy, but they took care of me.
No mention of hole being too big or being too close to the wall.
I will never set foot again in Kaufman Tire.
They lost a chance to gain my business.

I purchased 4 new tires along with an alignment and it was indeed a plesure doing business with Lonnie Ledford, sales associate. He was professional and courteous in his approach. In addition, after prcing these tires at several stores, Kauffman had the best out the door price. I highly recommend this particular store for all your service needs. You won't be dissapointed.
