My 21 year old daughter called me this morning crying that her head was pounding, she had a sinus infection. The first place I thought to take her was to Dr. Ghasemi. I am now living in North Tampa though so a friend suggested that I take her to a new chain of clinics in the area. They put you on a sliding scale for payment and since my daughter has no insurance it sounded like a great alternative to driving to the other end of town in 8am traffic. Not so...... We went to the first location and were told that they don't have a doctor to see walk-ins at that location. They suggested I go to one of the other locations that do have a walk-in doctor. Before going to the 2nd location I opted to drive out to see if Dr Ghasemi was in. I had been calling his office all morning but no one was answering. When I got there the gate on the door was locked and there was a sign in the window stating that Dr Ghasemi had passed after 30 years of treating patients. It expressed his family’s gratitude to decades of patients. It was very sad... Dr Ghasemi was one of a kind. His straight forward no frills way of doctoring that some people were put off by is exactly what made him so great!! If you went to see the Doc you knew you would be in and out in less then 30 minutes with samples in hand and on your way to Publix for the free antibiotics he prescribed. He understood that everyone deserved healthcare and it shouldn't cost $150.00 or 4 hours out of your day to get it. Gone are the days of Doctors who live their lives humbly to serve their patients. Not saying that there aren’t humble doctors but when you went to see Dr G you knew you weren't paying for his cushy office, flat screen in the waiting room, Porsche or a house in the Hamptons; and if he did have any of those things good for him for earning it in such a humble manner at $40 a patient for 3 decades. My daughter and I sadly drove off from Dr G's office and went to the other suggested clinic location only to be told that they also had no Walk in Doctor today. Could come back after (lunch) and sit for hours to get squeezed in somewhere or go to another location tomorrow as they "for sure" have walk in doctors there. Having to work that afternoon my daughter ended up going home in pain without being seen by anyone only to do the whole thing again tomorrow. Doctor Ghasemi you are one of a kind and will surely be missed. Thank you for your many years of dedication!!!! Rest in Peace:))))))

I have to say, I have never written a review in my life nor would I until reading these. I felt compelled to write this one. I have gone to this Dr. Office a few times in the past 8 years not having insurance. I have never met a nicer Dr. He has always cared more about the patient than the money. I can admit I am a snob when it comes to look and feel of a Dr Office, I like going places that are upscale. The building is not one I would normally pick or go to. I tried it one time because I did not have insurance and he did only charge 40$, to a single mom that was tight on money (8yrs ago) that was a life saver and I could not afford to be picky. I think the people below are crazy; I have never been to a Dr who is more caring about his patients and helpful. I say so what the office needs a little work, based on what he charges I am surprised he can get by. If you want a Dr who will care about you then go to this DR. If you want to be a number in a waiting room and have your pockets drained then go somewhere else. I have insurance now and doing very well for myself, I still prefer to go to this man when I get sick or need to see a Dr. The sad thing is, you people below who are complaining are people who can never be happy no matter what people do for you and always got a stick up your... Pull the stick out and loose your attitude and you would be surprised how nice the world will treat you.
FOI has been a saving grace for me. I have Adult Scoliosis and before coming to Florida to live I had eight back surgeries. All with some relief. My spine then took a turn for the worst and the pain I was in was growing increasingly unbearable. I was referred to FOI by an orthopedic doctor in Clearwater for a second opinion. On my very first visit to FOI I was treated very very professionally and with the utmost respect. I then was sent to see Dr. Small for a second opinion within the FOI. I was told that Dr. Small was the best of the best. After x-rays, a CT Scan and an MRI the doctor and I sat and discussed whether surgery was an option or not. It was and I opted to go ahead with it. The surgery was obviously my ninth and hopefully my last. after one and a half years post surgery I am in heaven with very minute pain. FOI and Dr Small are the very best. I now am having a hip problem and am returning to FOI to see Dr. Lyons. My final words on FOI are this: If you want the best orthopedic care this is the place to go. The staff and doctors are all the best as far as I am concerned. If you want the best be prepared to sit and wait when you get there.
