Good church with sound Biblical Teaching. Overall a dispensational type church, although those aren't issues that are hammered regularly. The teaching tends towards life application and understanding of the scriptures. Typically expositional. Worship is fairly balanced between hymns and contemporary songs. The overall tone is similar to what you would hear on an easy listening station, or just slightly tamer than what JoyFM or SpiritFM plays, but not by much. They use a piano, acoustic, drum, bass, keyboard, and sometimes an electric. They have additional teaching and Bible Studies available. Most regular parishioners attend Sunday School classes (I think they call it ABF - adult Bible fellowship), and there is a group that meets on Sunday night that is systematically reading throughout the entirety of the scriptures with a focus on teaching this all through regular family devotionals. Youth ministry is fairly active, but I had minimal exposure to that. There are multiple youth who seem to be active in the church through the music and ushering. It's worth a visit if you are searching for a church home, but to get the full impact of what it provides, you should give it a full month of visits. This church will probalby not wow you with amazing, earth shattering worship or teaching, but once exposed, you recognize the balance it provides and it will encourage you on your search for depth and closeness to Christ.
I've attended this church for a few years now and have watched and helped in it's growth. The growth and changes are exciting and necessary. The people who attend here are down to earth and friendly, just real people. The pastor, "JR", is personable and teaches the bible in a way that is relevant to today's needs. I enjoy being a part of the church in this particular building. I've learned how to give back to God and His people here. That means a lot to me. The children's worship/church program is awesome; and so are the kids! I love our worship leader "Jamie", and the rest of the guys and girls who lead worship. The contemporary style that the second service offers in worship is awesome! I love this church and I have absolutely no complaints. Ginger
Discovery Christian Church is more than a "church." It is family. The Pastor is not some guy who appears from the back of the stage, makes an appearance and then disappears. He is there from setup to break down and he asks people about their lives, he listens and cares. DCC is an informal setting with cafe style seating where you can learn truths straight from The Good Book in a relevant, applicable format. And....the yummy coffee and donuts are a good way to start the day while in the fellowship of great people.
