had a salad and a single mushroom pizza--the salad was delicious and plenty for the $$, dressing on the side. not too much of a choice in dsg--bring your own if on a strict low cal/low fat diet!!!! the basalmic vineagrette was really delish, but was the full fat version. the pizza was shared by 2 of us (along with our whole-meal salads) and was wonderful in my opinion, as it was not loaded with sauce or floating with grease from way too much cheese, and the crust was very good flavor & consistency. It was just right--no, not a diet item :). The place is lively (read noisy) at lunch time as they do a whopping biz, the prices are mid-to-high range (but the value seems good). I would give a 5-star if they catered a bit to those watching their fat/cal intake, and if they had nutritional info available. So, I will go here occasionally, but will hit my more diet-friendly restaurants on a steady basis.
I find it hard to believe that Greg's vidoe has lost it's main man who ran it, Danny Eby. he was personable, honest and very effecient. If he didn't have the video I wanted he would drive to another store to get it for me. I lost a wallet once and apparently left it on a counter...I had my rent in cash in it and he called me to tell me he had it. My credit cards and cash were in it. he is an honest man. You should not have let him go ! Honesty is rare in todays world. Danny would drop anyhting he was doing to take care of my business. I don't know where Danny is but I am going to try to find out where he went...i will not be back to Greg's video. The stars I gave are for the wondeful Danny.
Brooklyn is the best New York Style pizza in town! Make sure you get an order of garlic knots to go along with your pizza! The Italian salad is also a good choice and their subs are huge and on great garlic bread. But nothing beats their pizza. They have lunch specials with slices, two for one domestic beer specials and different pizza specials throughout the week. Definitely worth a try, especially over the chain pizza in town!
