I went in to get in iPod touch repaired and they charged me $35 to do nothing. Initially, they said the problem was a battery and that would cost $65 to replace. They said if that did not repair it, they would run a diagnostic test for $35, and be able to identify the problem. They were not able to repair the iPod, and I found out that their idea of a 'diagnostic test' is to try to change the battery, try to restore it (something I had already done), and if that fails then the problem must be something else. Completely worthless. For all I know, they just kept my iPod for a day and charged me $35 for it.
