Well , this was one of the worst dining experiances I have had in a long time. Took forever to get the orders taken, and then when the food came it was not anything near what one would expect. Ordered the raque of lamb, the poor little raque had hardly any meat on it as was prices ners $30! I complained and was told thats just the way they are, so I asked to order something else then, but they still wanted to charge me for the lamb, said they would give it to me at cost. That poor little piece wasn't worth $20. Most places would have just server me another entree and charged for that!. What a piece of crapola this place is! I will never come to this place ever again! Stay away, If you go you were warned!

The River Ranch consistently presents wonderful food using only the best ingredients! It is situated right on the Truckee River near the entrance to Alpine Meadows, so you not only have excellent food but a stunning view of the river as well.
The inside is dark, warm, and inviting but if you prefer the outdoors they have a cool deck as well.
The service is always very nice, too, which is a plus in my opinion.
You can eat anything from venison, to a fresh fish of the day, to pasta, to chicken...well, I think you get the picture.
