I met the owner, Steve, at a Hawaiian event at South Seattle Community College and bought some lovely gold plumeria earrings. I bought two pairs; one for me and one for a friend because the price was so reasonable (even for a student)! When I got engaged, I tracked him down to ask if he would make me a wedding ring. I didn't want a Hawaiian-style, but I knew he did custom work, too. He did and it's so beautiful! Together, we designed my ring based on an antique, but it's unique. I haven't had it appraised yet, but he told me that the market value of my ring was likely more than three times what he charged! I believe it because I had looked at many other stores to find inspiration an their prices were high. Steve was also very kind and loves what he does. I recommend No Ka Oi to anyone looking to purchase Hawaiian or any custom jewelry.
Mike did an amazing job on taking my wedding ring, which was purchased originally over 28 years ago and made sure that all the diamonds were in tightly, added extra gold to the bars that hold in the channel setting, and then made it sparkle like no tomorrow! Thank you, Mike for caring for my precious wedding ring as much as I do! I cannot wait to see how the other items have turned out in a few weeks.
If you can look up your item wanted or needing to pawn or sell...simply referencing ebay or craigslist sale. Youll have same baseline they do. Only reduce 70% value given 30%paid on pawn. and about a 10-20% markup from online going value. But thats stead fast consistant. And thats something you can depend on.
