Sylacauga Animal Shelter

This is NOT the animal shelter we have always known to be in sylacauga. This is A RESCUE FOUNDATION! It has taken many caring and giving individuals with a passion to truly help these animals they take in to be healthy, safe, and stable before an adoption with the knowledge to know some just need relief from suffering. These people cared enough to put all their time and effort and funds just to get this wonderful RESCUE FOUNDATION opened up as it should be. Sylacauga now has a RESCUE FOUNDATION! Not "the pound" or "animal shelter" we all once new.

I took my children to rescue a puppy in June. After falling in love with a black lab mix, we had to return her within 24 hours.... she refused to eat/drink anything yet vomited and was extremely sick. needless to say- she passed in there care. No refund meant I needed to adopt another, so we did. A week later that new dog was hospitaized with parvo and coccidia! !! this cost $300 more to save her. today (August 3, 2013) I call because I seen a dead puppy and another live one protecting it on Airport Road.... they refused to rescue this poop thing and told me they charge for me to bring it in....absolutely the worst excuse of an animal rescue I have ever seen!!!!

I am a volunteer. Those of you who think a dog pound is never a good place, well, this place is different. The dogs and cats get their own cages, they get fed well, taken care of, and put away if they have a contagious disease. You would find healthy pets and friendly volunteers and workers.
