Poor communication and lots of arrogance. Try to remember that people are coming to give homeless pets a home. The interaction with the staff lost a pet a very nice home.
This was one of the least satisfying experiences I have ever had not only with pet adoption but with any sort of business interaction. We had an unpleasant experience on Sunday trying to look at a puppy and driving 40 minutes to find that they were too understaffed to help us, giving us an estimated waiting time of an hour or two, and were very unwilling to apologize for not letting us know these expectations ahead of time when we had said the day before that we would be returning Sunday. When I spoke to the supervisor she had a similar attitude and also criticized us instead of apologizing for the unhelpfulness of their staff. I ended the conversation with the woman unwilling to apologize, simply telling me that she "couldn't be expected to have staff members that lay out the whole process every time" and pretty much made it clear that they were not interested in making this a good experience for customers. I would strongly recommend looking at other shelters.
