One of the best parks in Sunnyvale. I find staff to be friendly and accommodating or they will clearly explain why certain things are not allowed - there are rules for a reason. Space rent is not too bad and for the amenities we enjoy there is no way that you would be able to rent anything even half the size!

Management in Plaza Del Rey is the worst one you could imagine. I have been living in the park for over 8 years and every time i have to deal with them it is a war. They are always right and Mr. Greg "i know everything" top notch manager will not stop talking nonsense. Also i felt racial note once and since then my trust in them evaporated. There is more to say, but it will not make any difference anyway.
When we moved here it was a great park - all senior citizens and now a few families. Quiet neighborhoods, management kept away but was there if you needed them, lots of rules most of them reasonable and they were willing to work with you and management had a lot of common sense.\r
It's been under new management for a couple of years now and they are rude and discriminate - no common sense - mostly the men. \r
For example, a party was thrown in the clubhouse and a deposit wa...view mores put down in case there were any damages or other incidentals. 1 tiny little curled ribbon was left behind under a chair (which we promptly apologized for and removed because we didn't see it) it took a lengthly back and forth and lecture before the deposit was reluctantly returned. \r
Example. We sometimes hang out our rugs to air in the sun (in our backyard) and received a hard knock on the door and warning that laundry cannot be hung in the front yard............... it was not. \r
Example. You are not allowed to plant any trees on your space. We understand this rule and respect it but have heard from neighbors that they have been told to have trees removed even though we have all seen some spaces where new trees have gone in and remained in. Discrimination? We think so.\r
Example. There is a rule that you are not allowed to park on the street or in visitor's spots - ever. My son was helping us load our truck in front of our house - not in our carport because there was not enough space and management came by and told us that we had to move our truck because we were not allowed to have it there - unless we were loading immediately - we had taken a 5 minute break..............\r
We have lived here long enough to see the changes that came with his new management and do not recommend anyone move in if they are not a caucasian, senior citizen couple - you will be targeted.view less
There is parking in the streets now, garbage sitting in car ports, musical instruments being played for hours.\r
Management seems to concerned only about the WEST side park.\r
I have lived for 10 years and in the past 6 months it is starting to go down hill fast..........used to be strict rules but was clean and quiet.........now relaxed rules and going down hill fast.\r
wouldn't move in now unless management changed.
I used to live there for about 4 years then we sold the mobile home......this was the best thing that could have ever happened. The space rent......is a rip off! I'll never again pay space rent to live anywhere. A mobile home is a horrible investment and they also depreciate the day you move in them!\r
I agree with the other tenant, It was a very nice and well kepted living place, but the management was to strict. You can't do this and you can't do that.....nit picking and nos...view morey! They would not even let me have a Birthday party in the club house for my 6 year old niece. Basically I did not trust the Management and\r

I've lived at PDR for nearly three years. I agree with the first reviewer: it's a great park. I have 1600sf for the same monthly price (between mortgage & space rent) as a one bedroom apartment and no adjoining walls! Can't be beat. But every living situation has it's downside, so here are the things that I see:\r
* only one pet and it has to be under 20# (but that's likely to be a rule in most apts/condos/townhomes)\r
* can't walk dogs in the park and indoor cats only (incon...view morevenient but keeps the park clean)\r
* limited parking for guests (for big parties some guests may need to park outside the park itself, especially holidays)\r
* water goes out too often (from accidental line breakage when removing older homes)\r
* must get park approval for all exterior improvements/changes (inconvenient and sometimes limiting but it keeps the park from becoming unsightly)\r
* owner-occupied ONLY (helps with pride-of-ownership appearance but you can't decide to move elsewhere and leave it empty or rent it out; you've got to sell and sometimes selling takes a LONG time. You can have a renter and be gone a substantial part of the year - like snowbirds - but you can't just up and leave)\r
* rent goes up every year; that's built into the contract\r
Regardless of these things, PDR is an exceptional place to live. My advice: buy used. Like a car, these things depreciate. A friend bought a palatial home brand new and can't sell for enough to pay off the mortgage. I bought a 10-year-old home for a great price; it has vaulted ceiling, three bedrooms, two baths, open floorplan for the livingroom kitchen & diningroom with partial walls to define the space. And a fireplace! \r
You should work with a good realtor and be specific about what you want. There are two other good parks closeby and realtors tend to specialize by park. Look around and see which park feels best to you.view less
