So this weekend really finished me off with KeyPoint Credit Union. As I type this it is Saturday 8/9/2008 their online banking system is completely down. :( I have no access to my money nor to my account balance. I called them and they told me it will be down until Monday! They said, ""A server went down.""
I work as a Technical Support Rep. I could rebuild and re-image a machine in less than 6 hours assuming current technology is being used to backup the systems on a very regular basis. Whatever situation they are in it must be really bad and this tells me that they don't have the technology in their infrastructure to be an online bank.
I was originally introduced to KeyPoint Credit Union through my company. We were located in Scotts Valley and KeyPoint had no branches in my area or Santa Cruz County. But their representative assured me that they were an online savvy bank. This experience tells me this was very much so a lie.
I have been with them for almost 4 years. I used this bank primarily because of the free ATM usage. I understand technical difficulties but I also cannot understand 72 hours of no access to my account.
