Main Street Bar & Grill

I had high hopes for this restaurant after eating at the sister restaurant in Vacaville. The decor is beautiful, the menu was varied and interesting. The staff weas very friendly, but didn't seem to be trained to the level you would expect for the type of restaurant they are trying to be.The chef sent out a savory bread pudding with a sauce, and this was the best dish of the evening. I would encourage them to add that to the menu. The crab cake appetizer was more of a fritter, and was very bland, and full of fillers rather than crab. The salsa was tasty and would have been a real addition to a good crab cake. I ordered the ahi tuna with rissoto and puried vegetables. The tuna was perfectly coooked and very well seasoned. The veggies were very well done and well seasoned. The risotto was adissapointment, more like cafeteria rice, than what I expected. We shared a lemon tart for dessert that was very average, no real flavor, a soggy crust and a soft merrague.

While I am critical of the dinner, I want to go back again, because I feel that these issues can be addressed, the restaurant is new, and working out some bugs. The menu and the quality of the products used, make me think they can fix things. We need a quality private restaurant that makes a good evening out, and this restaurant has that potnetial.
