We are staying here for 3 nights this week. Just finished night #2. Great old school motel for the price. Very clean which is most important. Beds are firm but comfy. A/C is great and doesn't sound like a hay baler like some motels. Cinder block walls so it's super quiet. Mini fridge in the room. Right down the road from a county boat launch although we are charter fishing and didn't use it . In the center of the parking lot there's a fish cleaning station. Next to that is a screened in area with microwave, large fridge, toaster, coffee pot, and large tables to eat at. And a propane grill. We usually camp in our fifth wheel but opted for motel this trip and we weren't disappointed. I'll stay here again for future fishing trips.
The motel must be under new management bc the rooms seemed a lot cleaner then the last time I stayed here a few years ago. (our toilet had broken & 'manager' sent what appeared to be his like teenage son to fix it last time; room was so-so clean, pool area was also so-so clean- we didnt swim that time!) This time: The rooms were updated with painting, new linens, new decor, & new tiling/bath fixtures. It looks like they used the old doors, tv stands, lights though bc there were wear/tear marks all over those. Rooms were visibly cleaned each day- mirrors/sinks wiped, tile wiped down, etc. Pool area- clean. All the furniture in lobby & rooms are outdated & show wear/tear, but clean.
The owner, Chris was such a nice lady. Our room was clean and we never wanted for towels, I even had an extra pillow for just asking. There is a center building where we cooked a pizza in the oven. There was a huge charcoal grill we could have used. Anything we needed and more was supplied. :)
