This is hands down our new fave sandwich place!!! We called in a phone order for a one fajita & one chicken parma panini. Upon pick up we were greeted by the super friendly owner. Now I read reviews that he was friendly & helpful but really thats an understatement...super cool guy! Once we got home we tore into our eats and OH MY YUMMY!!!! The bread toasted to perfection combined with savory, tasty fillings made for the perfect panini. Such the perfect rainy day comfort food. Double high five to the owner for dishing out awesome eats with a friendly smile :) And just a suggestion for those worried about waiting, call ahead :)
The turkey pesto sandwich ranked in the top 3 I've ever had (out of 20 different countries and even more paninis). The salads were absolutely huge! And the desert panini was phenomenal... The portions were crazy big. We are going to become regulars here.
The food here is delicious. Yes, it does take time as does any freshly prepared food, but it is so worth it. You can always call ahead if you are in a rush. The creative combinations are interesting and so far all the paninis have been so delicious I really love the Cuban Club. They have great salads also. They are usually handing out samples of the soup but beware if you taste it you will want some a cleaver ploy! Be sure to walk around to the back and enjoy sitting in the cute patio area and there is also parking down the alley which makes eating here even better you don't have to drive forever looking for a stupid parking spot.
This is one of the BEST walk-up, sit down panini places in the ENTIRE los angeles area. I have been to press so many times I can barely even express how much I like it. \r
\r
I think the other reviews are simply not true and are most likely crazy ex-employees mad that the 'Owner' (Whom Im thinking is the extremely kind young man who alway seems to give me tastes of specials and extras every time I wait and sometimes even when I dont!)\r
\r
The ingredients are not even close to subways, The meats are freshly slices and the panini's are made to order. Im getting hungry just thinking about it. (If you dont believe me just google press panini and read about where the love of food comes from..)\r
\r
My favorite one is the cuban club, but the soup always gets me as well. \r
\r
Word to the wise, if this fabulous young chef has a special of the day, Try it, its always amazing.\r
\r
as for these other peoples experiences, Ive only noticed 2 people working there and I believe one is the owner and the other guys is the nicest man ever who always calls me 'boss' \r
\r
Amazing back area with tv, and cozy lounge area no one really seems to know about, I had my first celebrity sighting back there, I saw Jessica Biel eating a salad from press while I was there... OMG\r
\r
and last but not least by any means.. plenty of parking\r
\r
\r
My favorite panini in LA so far \r
\r
\r
\r
\r
\r
\r
\r
I went to this place last Thursday with a couple of friends for lunch. All 3 of us had heard goods things about this place, but were all sorely disappointed. They got 2 of our orders wrong, and for $9.00 for a sandwhich comparable to subway...it wasnt worth it. The owner was very rude to his employees in front of customers...it was very inappropriate , i think he might have been autistic or something....anyway avoid Press Panini at all costs.
If you're looking for an overpriced, understaffed eating experience try Press Panini. The one and only time I ate at this curbside dump, I was surprised to find the ""owner"" sitting inside playing video games. I should have taken that as a sign to take my nine dollars elsewhere. The place reeked of ""illegal"" smoke and you could see the flies behind the glass landing on the food. Once I walked up to order, the owner jumped up, as if I hadn't just seen him playing video games, and started a conversation with me about IPhones. Was he trying to sell Apple products or sandwiches? Either way, I would never purchase anything from this man ever again.
