An Excellent place for Japanese

I came across this restaurant based on all the reviews from citysearch and I agree this place is a great place for Japanese and it is yummy. The food is great.

Good authetic Japanese

Great authentic Japanese food here but they clueless staff have no idea what is good. Don't even bother asking them unless they are Japanese. The American waiters who work here don't really know their stuff. That said, still great food can be had here.

Wonderful

My favorite new sushi bar! The sexy roll and the teru roll are my new favorite things. Plus their patio outback is perfect, I highly recommend it.

Delicious food, excellent service, great price!

we just had an early dinner at Kiwami (where Tama used to be). they really took care of us. the food was delicious. we started with this sashimi sampler that included those crispy spicy tuna cakes & blue crab roll. so good. had some Spanish mackerel (from Japan) and some Aji. washed it down with some Miso. we will 100% go back!

For sushi lovers

I didn’t think that I could have better sushi than Katsu-Ya & Izaka-Ya. Surprise! Kiwame is a culinary event. BEWARE!!! They overcharge when you are not looking

Twice we have been hoodwinked! The first time there were some extra sakis on our bill. OOPS! Then we ordered to go food and they added an 8 percent gratuity....They don't give you an itemized list, just a bill with the total!! Make sure you ask for the list of food! I have found this in another sushi restaurant as well. since you (me) can't read Japanese..they figure you will never know!!!

Kiwami will rule ""sushi row""!

My husband and I recently had dinner at Kiwami, and it's a fantastic new addition to our beloved ""sushi row"" (on Ventura blvd). Never had a bad experience!!

I go once or twice a week and sit at the bar. Order a spicy tuna hand roll with avocado on soy paper, then order a baked crab hand roll on soy paper, then order the yellowtail. Next, try to remember three things you have eaten in a row in the past that could possibly compete!!!\r \r I don't go on Monday's as Richard the sushi chef is not there. He is THE MAN when it comes to sushi!\r
