HIGH PRAISE for The Westside Veterinary Center

Friday morning, after a lovely Thanksgiving Day Celebration, I discovered that my 7lb …10 year old poodle, Lilly, had possibly ingested a foreign body. She had slept through the night with no vomiting and showed no signs of pain or discomfort … in fact she was looking for her breakfast as usual that morning. I had scooped her up in my arms and while holding her I felt her belly and sure enough I COULD FEEL the foreign body in her intestines.\r I immediately called the WSVC, I was handled with kindness, compassion and caring…Obviously understanding the urgent nature of Lilly’s situation … We were immediately fit/scheduled into Dr Yim’s appointments. The receptionist told me to come over and that she would fill the doctor in before I arrived so Lilly could be cared for with the best and most expeditious care/treatment. \r Dr Yim was lovely, kind, caring and as soon as the x-rays were complete … she showed me exactly what we were dealing with … multiple foreign bodies … 1 of which was now blocking the intestine creating a back up causing the intestine to bulge, indicating that surgery was needed (to remove them all) immediately. \r The reality of abdominal exploratory on my 10 years old baby became a hard and fast reality within minutes … Luckily … Dr Yim was able to do the surgery that evening (as the regular surgeon was out of town) doing all she could to help my little munchkin Lilly was in surgery by 5pm that night (the day after Thanksgiving) and within a few hours all foreign bodies were removed and she was resting in the ICU recovering with their amazing 24 hour nursing staff.\r Dr Yim explained that after such a major surgery … the first 72hrs were the most important to see if her body would rebound.\r I was told I could visit (with an appointment) and call anytime to check in on her. I did all that I was allowed to do to support Lilly’s healing process & followed up with both Dr Yim and Dr Cantor (who is my regular vet) about Lilly’s healing process, foods etc…\r I am thrilled to report that Lilly’s recovery which went smoothly and without a single hitch! I credit this to the wonderful care we received from the amazing staff at WSVC.\r I have been a client at WSVC for more than 25years and will continue to be a client along with recommending this hospital to all I know who have pets. \r I do believe that the staff at WSVC truly LOVES animals as they strive to deliver the best/highest level of veterinary care possible for their patients/clients!\r During my crisis …All communications were clear from the reception staff, Dr Yim, Nursing Staff & of course with Dr Cantor as well.\r \r So I must report: HIGH PRAISE for the WESTSIDE VETERINARY CENTER!\r \r Bravo … Standing Ovation! & Thank You! :-)\r \r \r
