Overall

30 year old car greatly overheated on way to beach.
Happily I came across Duty's. Glenn McCoy and crew fixed the car for a very reasonable price, local residents are very fortunate to have such an honest and competent service center to rely upon on a regular basis!

Overall
Duty's vs Western Auto

I've had 4 cars and 2 of them I've taken to Duty's and my first 2 I took to Western Auto. First of all the people that work at Western Auto aren't helpful at all and aren't personable, I always felt like I was talking to a wall when talking to the head mechanics or whatever their position. So the first car I had didn't last long because western auto was over-pricing little things wrong with my car so they suggested I sell it, and I was really young and stupid and thought they knew what they were talking about. The second car I took to Western Auto for repairs, tires and anything else. I got the impression that they didn't get much business because they eneded up getting a lot from me and all my family that went there as well with their cars and we've been going there for years. Until with my second car I had a few repairs done but it always took a very long time for my car to be ready whether it was just new tires and rotation or repairs, they would keep making up new reasons to hold the car hostage as they'd call "realizing" my car needed all kinds of different things. And the last time I went there was for a MD state inspection, they did get everything good on the car but some things they really didn't need to do, and I got the impression they wanted to make as much money off of me as they could because they were saying I needed new parts on the car like headlights, and other parts that were stock and perfectly functional, I'm not an expert but I do know a few things, and after everything was said and done they didn't even fix the problem I told them needed fixing(idle control). They said the car, with the new battery, would fix itself.. So finally I ended up taking my car to Duty's for some body repairs after hitting a deer and everyone there was really nice and helpful and I didn't have to wait 20 minutes for someone to look at my car. They acknowledged me when I walked in, asked what I needed, I explained and they immediately walked out to my car with me noting everything that he saw needed fixing, asked if I had any questions and I told him about the idle control valve, he said he'd check it out, gave me an estimate and estimated time for when I could get it. It needed a new bumper, headlight and grille. He said at the most a week, and it was ready in 4 days after ordering the parts, painting them and installing them, which I thought was a good turn around time. And he told me I would need a new idle control valve, I didn't have the money and I was debating selling the car and getting a new car so he said if I decided I needed it, just bring it in and we'll get it done. They did a really good job, everything looked better than before and they detailed my car. The next time i went there was recently and I got body work done, after a minor accident, on my recent car. They fixed it up and it was done pretty quick and my car looked brand new. My car was detailed inside and out, waxed and looking brand new, actually I would say better than new because they did a better job detailing the inside than the dealership and even fixed a minor scratch in the paint that didn't happen in the accident. Duty's is now where me and my family take our cars for anything, they're friendly and very helpful. and of course do great work on all of our cars.
