all my life i've been a huge softee for all animals, so when i saw a PIGEON with a broken wing, i had to help it. i first went to my vet, but, despite being a 24/7 vet, couldnt take wild animals. the next thing that came to mind was the ACC, which was all the way on the other side of the island from where i live. still, i drove there, hoping they would be willing to help. as soon as they saw the pigeon, they thought of everything they could do to help it, calling fosters and rescues. note that all of this is for a PIGEON. they did not even allow me to sign it over until they knew for sure they could help it. if youre looking for a place to help any kind of animal in need, this is the place to go.
I have adopted 4 cats from this shelter over the past 20+ years. The staff are the most loving kind caring people. They wlecome wolunteers and donations all the time so if you are in position to donate time or supplies it is always greatle appreciated and always needed. You have all picked a great job - the love for what you do shines thru... Thanks!
