Hair & Body Matrix

I moved from Starkville 10 years ago and have not had a decent haircut since. Wanda at Hair Matrix cut my hair this week and it is EXACTLY what I asked for.. It is worth my two hour drive to get the cut I want! I will be back.

I have been going to the ladies at Hair & Body Matrix for 10+ years now. They always do a fabulous job. Now whenever I decide to change my style, I just tell them to do a different cut, and it is their decision. I have never been disappointed. The ladies there are always friendly and professional. I would not consider going anywhere else.

I have gotten SO many compliments on the hair style Courtney helped me with. Every winter I grow my hair out and then wanted it cut shoulder length for the summers. This is a annual routine for me. Before Courtney had a position at HBM, she was making house calls and I have never had a terrible hair cut yet! The ladies are VERY friendly and I feel comfortable talking with them. When I entered HBM, it was clean, the music was pleasant and always a friendly smile. It has been two weeks since my hair cut and I'm still getting compliments! Thank-you Courtney and HBM!

I've been going to these ladies for over a decade. I've never gotten a bad hair cut, bad color, or bad service, and I always leave with a laugh. A great group of women and hands down my favorite salon.

I've been getting my Hair done since the previous 2 iterations of this shop. It was once, Main Hair Designers, and then just Main Hair. Now it is in a new location and is Hair and Body Matrix. I have never had a bad experience (32 years of Haircuts from the same stylist :) ), and every person that has ever, and currently works there, have all been great people. I've never had a bad haircut, and will continue to go there as long as I have hair on my head!

I've been going to hair and body matrix for almost a year now and I have never had a negative experience. I always get my hair styled by Courtney and she is awesome! She is always supper friendly and we style my hair together so I always feel like I am apart of the process. HBM also has other services too like waxing, mani/pedis and tanning. The salon always feel clean and open.

AVOID getting any salon services at Hair & Body Matrix!!! Bad service, a nasty attitude, and unsanitary practices are apparently acceptable here. I have never walked out in the middle of a haircut before patronizing this establishment. From start to finish, the experience went from bad to worse to completely unacceptable. The stylist did not introduce herself --- instead, I introduced myself AFTER she sat me in the chair and answered her text messages. Then, she took a personal phone call while I was in the chair, and it lasted about 5 minutes. During the cut, she dropped the comb on the floor, then picked it up and continued using it on my hair. The second time she dropped it, I asked if she would *please* use a clean comb and was told, "The floor is clean. It was just cleaned." She said she didn't think there were any clean combs left, but searched for one and returned with it. I specified that I liked to keep some length at the sides of my hair - I wear it short - and asked that she not razor cut it since my hair is naturally curly. After shearing the sides down to nothing, she approached me with men's clippers, at which point I told her to stop. She replied that if she couldn't razor cut it, she couldn't shape it the way I wanted unless she used the clippers. No stylist has ever had a problem with this before, and I've worn my hair short for at least 2 years! Scissor - cutting only followed by men's clippers to clean up the short hairs on the back of my neck has been the norm, and I explained all of this before she began. I only went to this establishment because the City Goodwill Hostess recommended it and included a coupon in her welcome bag, but I am contacting her next, then speaking to whomever is in charge of this salon. I tried to remain pleasant, and everyone is entitled to a bad day, but I obviously should not have scheduled a cut at the time I did (5:00 p.m.). I would rather have waited for an appointment or even been told upon arriving that the "stylist" (butcher?) was too busy and needed to reschedule. Instead, I received awful service, left with a bad haircut, and had to find another salon and stylist to fix this hot mess (thankfully, they are getting me in today and have been highly recommended by many people). The City Goodwill Hostess gives out a gift bag with coupons for services in it, and there are coupons all over the Internet for this establishment: when this stylist was told that I was "the one the City Goodwill Hostess" recommended, perhaps the stylist decided that I would get exactly what I paid for - half off the price of a haircut, and therefore, half a haircut. *** If it were possible to give zero stars to Hair & Body Matrix, I would, but I had to fill in something ***
