- Anderson School is one of the leading providers of special educational services in the United States. Founded by Victor Anderson, the school has been operational for more than 30 years. A nonprofit organization, it serves more than 2,500 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Located in Staatsburg, N.Y., Anderson School offers a wide variety of programs and services, such as chorus, band, adaptive and traditional physical education, team sports, art and cultural programs, and after school programs. The school also offers transitional services, adult and children's residential programs, adult day habilitation, and several volunteer programs that include participation in the care of animals, visiting community nursing homes and hospitals. Additionally, the school provides various recreational activities, such as swimming, bowling, roller-skating and horseback riding, service coordination, health care services, community outreach programs, speech and language solutions, and communication programs.
