This is over all a good rink unless you have a child who is a beginner then I would suggest going to Skateland on Campbell. Skateport WILL NOT tighten the wheels of skates for beginners and thus the wheels are too loose for a child to learn on. Skateland will tighten the wheels for your child to go through steps of learning to balance themselves, before being faced with the challenges of rolling on loose wheels. My son had difficulty enjoying himself at Skateport for this reason though he enjoyed himself at Skateland because they made it easier for him to learn in steps. However, if you all ready know how to skate, then Skateport is just as good as Skateland.

Excellent skating rink and very friendly staff. A clean atmosphere with a great snack bar. This is my favorite in Springfield. They make it easy for young children to learn to skate. They will tighten the wheels of the skates for young children, if you ask them. I think they are the only ones in Sprinfield that do because I know Skateport wont. And since they dont hand out helmets in skating rinks, this keeps your child from falling and cracking his skull on loose wheels while trying to learn to balance himself on skates. They also sell a variety of nice skates, if you are looking to buy.
One of the largest rinks in the area, it is home to the WFTDA Springfield Rollergirls and Ozarks Derby Brigade Roller Derby teams. It also has an inline racing team for those so inclined. Sessions are popular among all ages and it offers a very well stocked Pro Shop with a knowledgable staff.
