Overall

Anyone considering renting from this place better think twice. Joe Horton, the owner of this particular franchise, is the rudest person I have ever dealt with.



I've been searching for a minivan to take on our vacation in Florida. All the sites I've visited have been upwards of $800. Then, I remembered my dad telling me about rentawreck and that he'd used them in the 70's...yes, they've been around that long...and that they were very reasonable.



So, I went online and searched for Springfield and low and behold, YES, they had a van with a mileage limit of 1800 miles, and yes, it was available for the dates I needed. AND it was $200 cheaper. Perfect. All I wanted to know was exactly what kind of van it would be.



The man who answered the phone was unpleasant from the minute he said "rent a wreck". He asked me what dates I needed and I told him. He shuffled through papers and said he had those dates. Then, he asked me where I was going to be taking it. I told him Florida. He then immediately started hesitating and told me gruffly that he didn't have those dates. I was confused. He had just told me that he did. When I asked him to clarify, that that didn't make sense, he told me that the miles were too far. I told him I already did the mileage and it fell below the 1800 miles allowed. He sat there in silence. I again said that I was confused...wasn't this a business? Didn't he AND the website say that the mileage was as stated and that he had vehicles for that date?? He stammered and said "I don't want my vehicle going into Florida". Whhhhaaaatttt?? Crazy. I told him that made no sense. He got highly annoyed and said "Maam, I can't help you" and HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!! I could not believe it. What a total jerk. Unbelievable.



I called the franchise 800 number. The rep was very understanding and apologetic. He placed me on hold and called the idiot himself....and the guy told him that no, he didn't want to talk to me to clear anything up and yes, he was fine with me filing a formal complaint. Unreal. So, I did.



I highly doubt anything will come of the complaint because this guy is too stupid to care. But I'm telling you, don't waste your time on these people. He obviously cares nothing about his reputation or how he treats potential customers. This was my first and will definitely be the last time I contact this company. If I could give this review LESS than one star, I would. What a moron.

Horrible Attitude

The person I talked to was extreamly rude has absolutely zero clue about customer service. I wouldnt do business with these people if they were the only car company around I would rather walk. So please take my advice and don't waste your time.
