My husband and I love going here. I believe it's the best Japanese in town. The cooks are very friendly and entertaining. A little pricier than most, but I would say it's worth it.

Best Japanese in town! My family loves going here despite the chunk it takes out from my wallet :) Worth every penny though!

Bunch of hot chicks. Great atmosphere. Awesome bartender. Awesome chefs. Best sushi in town, try a Hope roll or the Baked roll if you haven't! If you're in town you have to eat here!

Nakato's has the very best sushi in town...this place is my overall fav and the staff is alway's very friendly...we eat Nakato's atleast twice a week...the Hope Roll, Jenni Roll, Cucumber Roll and Remill Roll (i think i spelled that right) are my favorite one's...they have some other good one's also that my husband like's...the price is good also...the sushi guy's are amazing and very friendly and they wear glove's while they prepare your food unlike another place in town...just wonderful

The best

Amazing food. Great service. I love how they cook it right in front of you. Wonderful miso soup. Great salad. Awesome sushi.

not real japanese

I am a foodie, so I am harsh with my ratings. I know a lot of people that really like this place- but if you are looking for anything that resembles real japanese food you might want to try a different place. They have the typical hibachi grill with the typical hibachi fare (which by the way I never ever saw a hibachi grill in japan) . I can see how taking kids here would keep them entertained with the guy cooking the food and doing little tricks (always the same- flaming onion, flipping shrimp tails around..ect). They have sushi but nothing spectacular. The raw fish isn't always super fresh tasting, and their knife skills could use a little tweaking. Maybe if they included some toro on the menu with some real japanese rice i'd think about eating here again. I cannot eat another plate of greasy noodles, salty veggies and overcooked shrimp :P If you are going to eat here I suggest downing a few asahi or sapporo beers before and during my meal.

This is my absolute favorite place in the whole entire universe to eat, it is so delious! Anytime my mom asks where we should go this is always the place I say so you should go and watch a great show as they cook your food and then enjoy the greatness they have made!!

Best we've ever had...and then some!

My husband used to work for a company (here in the US) that was based in Japan. He frequently travelled there for corporate meetings, as well as nearly every state here in the continental 48. Fancying himself a sushi and sashimi "aficionado" from his many travels, he says Nakato is THE best stateside that he's ever had; and I agree wholeheartedly! When we last visited (Aug 08), we were told there would be a 45 min. wait and decided to have a couple of drinks at the bar while we waited. After discovering that the steakhouse part was table-side entertainment - ala Shogun - we decided, instead, to eat at the sushi bar.

What a treat! The sushi bar is "in the round" and features what can only be described as a sushi regatta. The typical American fare - California rolls, Philly rolls, etc. - is always ready and accessible via a gondola train that runs continuously around the bar between the seated patrons and the sushi chefs. Diners have the option to choose from the regatta or off of Nakato's ample menu of sushi, shashimi and nigiri, all of which are very reasonably priced and extremely well-proportioned.

We chose a couple of rolls from the sushi train while we awaited our Rainbow roll, Nakato Tempura roll and Alaska roll. To quote my 15-year-old daughter, OMGeez! If you are seeking sushi NIRVANA, this is the place!

The only downside is you won't want to stop when your meter reaches full and the ride home is usually a quiet may want to appoint a designated driver as the bar fare is as superlative as the sushi. Douzo meshiagare! (bon appetit)

One of the best restaurnats in town.

Their food is always amazing. I'm in love with the seafood sauce, just give me a straw and I could slurp it up. Whether you do the grill or sushi, you'll be pleased. My favorite is the eel twister. It is so good. The chefs always have new tricks to show off so even if you go once a week, you are bound to be surprised once in a while. The front desk gals and guys are always very pleasant and helpful. The servers must get paid well, because they stick around for years.

Food was very oily. Chef, howe...

Food was very oily. Chef, however, was entertaining--the volcano trick was impressive. He was not equal in the amounts he was serving. It seemed the last diner he served was always shortchanged. The atmosphere seems tired. The could use a decorative update. This was not our favorite dining experience.
