Primary Care
Most patients undergo arthrography because it has been recommended by their orthopedic surgeon or primary care physician, also called the referring physician. The images are interpreted by a radiologist, though not necessarily the one who was present during your examination. The interpretation is subsequently forwarded to your orthopedist or primary care physician. Depending on the interpretation, you and your physician will determine the next course of action, such as treatment for an abnormality, if necessary.

Lung Cancer
X-ray exams also play an important role in the detection and diagnosis of cancer. In fact, one use of X-ray in diagnosing cancer is to see whether you have lung cancer or whether cancer from another part of the body has spread (metastasized) to the lungs. Cancer may appear lighter in color on X-ray films than does normal, healthy lung tissue. X-rays may also be used to examine cancers of the intestines, stomach, liver, spleen, kidneys and breasts.

Ultrasound
Echocardiogram, often referred to in the medical community as a cardiac ECHO or simply an ECHO, is a sonogram of the heart. Also known as a cardiac ultrasound, it uses standard ultrasound techniques to image two-dimensional slices of the heart. The latest ultrasound systems now employ 3D real-time imaging.

We offer On-Site Radiology coverage that ensures patient safety and to supervise our certified technologist and all radiology protocols. This allows for STAT reads within 2-4 hours and 24-48 hour turnaround on non-urgent exams. Our radiologists work hard to provide a fast, accurate and decisive report of your diagnostic imaging exam.

Mammography
We are proud to be the first in Hernando County offering the latest in Breast Imaging. Our Hologic 3D Tomo Mammography system is a Full-Field Digital system that hands down is the most advanced mammography system on the market. It offers C-View technology for low radiation dose exams and CAD, Computer Aided detection that helps the radiologist decisively pin point areas of concern.
Computed Tomography
You may be asked to drink contrast before the CT scan depending on which exam your doctor has prescribed. Our scheduling department will give you specific instructions if this is the case.
Chemotherapy
Neo adjuvant chemotherapy: MRI is used before and during the course of chemotherapy to evaluate chemotherapeutic response and extent of residual disease prior to surgical treatment.
Interventional Radiology

Joint Replacement
Arthrography is done most commonly to identify abnormalities associated with the shoulder, wrist, hip, knee and ankle. Patients who undergo this procedure usually have complained of persistent, unexplained joint pain or discomfort. Arthrographic images may allow identification of problems with a joint’s function or indicate a need for a joint replacement.
