I have 3 tattoos from this joint already and am working on a half sleeve. An old friend contacted me a few months ago to let me know that he was tattooing here and I jumped at the chance to get some work done. I've got some Greek mythology on my forearm and the Bogeyman and Frankenstein on my upper arm (the beginning of my half sleeve). The artists here are really wonderful, they're all very down to earth and don't think they're cooler than everyone else (or if they do, they don't let you know it). We've all been to that place where the person who's supposed to greet you almost makes you feel stupid for being there or put out by having to help you, you won't get any of that here. The guys are very talented, so if you don't know exactly what you want, but don't want to pick something out of the book, they can draw you up something fabulous. The owners wife is most likely to greet you when you walk in and she has a great smile that seems very genuine and makes you feel very comfortable. The artists can be a little goofy sometimes, constantly making fun of each other and playing practical jokes on one another, you're sure to be entertained. Not to mention, you're sure to catch Freddy singing along with a song or two and if he notices you noticing him, he's sure to turn it into a parody that'll at least make you crack a smile. Please don't let this make you think they're unprofessional, because that is not the case, they're very clean and efficient and do really great work! My artist that does all my work is Jed Bueno, and I know Freddy does really detailed work as well, I haven't seen Steve's work but I'm sure it's up to the same standards. The best thing about this place is that they pride themselves on being cost efficient, they charge by the piece and not by the hour so it's definitely a find. They're kind of easy to miss located in a tiny shopping center on Fruitridge just east of 65th sandwiched between a tire shop and an Asian market. Parking can be a challenge since the lot is very shallow, but if you ask me, that just makes this place a diamond in the rough, sort of a hidden treasure. If you want some great work done at a reasonable price, go see the boys at heavens gate! Feel free to tell them Raylynn sent you (only certain artists take credit, so you're better to bring cash). Check out this same review on yelp to see pics! Also be sure to check out their MySpace.
They do not sell colored contact lenses of any sort. Yellow Pages says they do, but they do not. Sorry, last minute Halloweenies
These guys are great! My friend and I were referred by someone who went there. We saw his tattoo at foot action and asked him weho did his work. He didn't remember the guys name but said he was a BIG MEXICAN..lol so we went to see him and found out his name was freddy. It was near closing time and freddy said he can tattoo us both if the other would wait. He drew exactly what I wanted on paper and the tattoo looked 10 times better on my skin!! I was so happy that I gave him a good tip cause I felt guilty of paying juist the price. No one wants to pay more, but I felt that he undercharged me for the beautiful work. I am definitly recomending him to anyone. As long as you want to be seranated while your getting tatted, the mans got vocals too hahaha the whole time I was laying down getting inked he was either singing or telling funny stories and jokes. I loved it. Can't wait to go back. On the flip side my friend did not want to wait and she let some other guy named jed do hers and its ok but doesn't look like he should be working at a shop. It was her fault obviously for not checking his art history or pictures of his work? She will need a touch up. I strongly recomend that you go there and tell evryone about them. But ask for freddy the BIG MEXICAN guy lol cause jeds work is kind of ameture. There was another artist there but we did not meet him cause he was tattooing some guys , but his work seemed very nice and bold too.
I called initially to inquire about two dermal piercings on my upper back, and the woman I spoke with on the phone was super friendly and cheerful. She immediately let me speak with Mike, the piercer. I only waited 10 - 15min. He explained the possible risks (cleaning my upper back dermals is so freaking difficult...) Plus, he was so kind, knowledgable, easygoing, and genuinely excited about his work. He was very careful in marking the two dots where I was to be pierced and was very conscientious of maintaining hygiene (changing gloves, multiple cleanings, etc). And, the actual piercings didn't even hurt! Just a slight pinch! I think Mike's is just good, haha. Plus, my friend who came in with me wanted to get something done on her ear, and he took care of her as well! She was tottering on the idea of an industrial, but Mike suggested a conch, and I whole heartedly approve. Soooo glad Mike could suggest a more unique piercing for my friend. :) To top it off, the woman at the desk gave me GREAT advice on piercing aftercare. Overall, this place is so incredibly. AND parking is super easy out front too! AND they have an awesome selection of jewelry. Okay, no more and's. Yep. I will definitely be returning to The Exotic Body for all of my future piercing needs and bringing as many friends as I can.
