Ski Run Marina

I just want to rent kayak and they told me there is not enough people to help me . 3 people in marina can't do it ? What a joke . I know I was not interesting customer for them because renting kayak is not as profitable as renting power boats, for which they had plenty of helpers.

I second all the negative reviews of Ski Run Boat Company online, Everyone from the staff who schedules activities to the management are beyond unprofessional. It is amazing that this company is even in business, probably only because of the central location and travelers believe they are the only option. They are not!!! The employees across the board are rude and unprofessional and act as if they could care less about you business. We were so appalled by their behavior and demeanor that we took our business elsewhere and I urge you to do the same. There are a number of much better options very close by. I wish I would have seen the abundance of negative reviews , and even complaints to the Better Business Bureau, before wasting a portion of my family's vacation dealing with the Ski Run Boat Company and their inept, unprofessional employees.

Great place to rent power boats, jet skis, ski & snowboard rentals. Also, party boats for weddings etc.

Everybody from the Girls(Sam and Carey)we dealt with from the minute we got to Ski Run Boat Company to upper management including John the manager @ the dock are the rudest & most unprofessional group of people we have ever come across in a business setting!

On August 30th the boat we were rented was unsafe & not working properly from Ski Run Boat Company. All of the gauges besides the RPM gauge weren't working, the Bimini Top broke off(right next to my head)so we had to drive 5-10 mph all the way back to Ski Run Boat Company which put us 30 minutes over our time. When we expressed our dangerous situation and mishaps with the boat they didn't care or have any concerns for the future rental of the boat. We expressed to management how unsafe and illegal the boat was and that we weren't asking for any compensation just for them to attend to it for future customers. The manager gave us a 5% discount but it didn't make up for the 30 mins(over $100) we had to deal with getting back to Ski Run Boat Company.

After waiting 35 minutes for the bill they charged up for almost 21 gallons of gas(5.89 a gallon)for a total of almost $122.00. Being a past owner of 3 High Performance boats its nearly impossible to run through that much gas in such a short amount of time on a small boat with a low horse power motor. We walked away knowing that we weren't going to get any resolution from the manager so we walked down the dock only to encounter John the dock manager! We asked him to show us the pump or a receipt indicating the amount of gas put into the boat. John began to argue & show very aggressive and erratic behavior. We walked away with disbelief.

We then tried contacting the owner Ron Williams numerous times to make him aware of how his employees ran his business while he wasn't there and to discuss the issue with the boat and the charges. After a couple of days not hearing from Rom Williams we tried several of his other businesses only to be told that there is no way to get a hold of him. We then left a message for the General Manager but still to this day we have not heard back from either one. Our last call to Ski Run Boat Company on Wednesday September 9th Lydia informed us that he will never return our calls.

The last thing we wanted to do is to write a bad review and handle this matter privately but after reading all of the horrible reviews on numerous other websites about Ski Run Boat Company and there responses we knew that we wouldn't get any resolution with Ski Run Boat Company and to bring this to the publics attention.

We highly recommend to NOT use Ski Run Boat Company!

Awesome crew staff and price

I'd rather swim than use this company for a boat rental. Rude phone service and even worse once we got there! The boats were dirty and overpriced. An 18 foot boat on Tahoe was ridiculous, too wavy for such a small craft.

My family loves this company and has used it for years. I can not believe the other reviews, come on "treeair" are you for real? says 7-7 on your review, so you went to them during a busy busy time and probably deserved being treated that way. you even wrote that YOU forgot the coupon, then YOU didnt book for enough spots during a busy holiday week. and yes people send their kids all the time and dont go on the boat themselves. We did it and our kids had a blast, their safe with the captains, the manager in the office said that some other families send their kids and dont go on the boat sometimes depending on kids age. So it sounds like You have the problem, same with the Sheryl reviewer, just sounds impossible to please. We love this company and recommend it to everyone. Our family and our friends families love it here too. Great place to rent a boat, very knowledgeable of lake. Boats in the best condition. Will come back every year...with our coupon! Make sure you listen to the rules and your fine!! Just like driving a car, there are rules to be safe and have fun. My kids understand rules, hopefully these other people can learn how to.

Try to use another company... Ski Run Boat Co. has AWFUL customer service! We called a couple days ahead for reservations stating that we had 3 kids, ages 8-11 who wanted to parasail together and some of the parents may want to also but were still on the fence. We thought we were all set but when we arrived 30 minutes before our scheduled time we were greeted by a VERY Rude girl at the front desk. There was a group of 6 of us, 3 kids, 3 adults. We asked about using a coupon that we had forgotten at our hotel and they told us we had 10 minutes before the boat left to run back to the hotel to get the coupon or we'd miss the boat and would not offer any other options (like to bring in the coupon later for a refund on the difference) After rushing back to the hotel for the coupon and getting back in time we were told that the adults could not go on the boat as spectators because there was no room. They expected us to send our 3 kids (11 yrs old and younger) on the boat alone and 1000+ feet in the air without us... I don't think so. The EXTREMELY rude girl at check in just looked at us and said "so nobody is parasailing?" and ripped up our paperwork and walked away. Also, when we came back with the coupon there was a girl in front of us asking the same thing about the coupon and the same rude girl told her "that's ok, just bring it later!" Unfortunately, this is the only company that offered 3-person parasailing so we had to re-book with them because our girls were really disappointed they couldn't go the first time. I would NOT recommend this company!

We rented a boat and attempted to go parasailing with Tahoe Sports Ski Run Boat Company. The boat was great with just a couple of minor repair problems. However, the staff communication was terrible for both the boat and the parasailing.



RE BOAT: We were told that we could reserve the boat for the afternoon and then told we could only reserve it for beginning at 10 am. They they said that we could reserve it for 12 noon, but only on Monday. We were told that we would get a 25% discount because of the shade cover being broken. We were not told that we had to give up our already agreed upon discount of 15% before getting the 25% discount.



RE PARASAILING:

---We were told that we had a choice of going parasailing tandem or solo as long as the weight is over 90 pounds. Then we were told that everyone had to go tandem.

---We were not told that we had to be there 1/2 hour early. We arrive early, however, and checked in, but then were not called to tell us to go to the boat, so we missed the parasailing.

---We were told that observers could change to flyers by telling the boat captain and then were told that we had to give 24 hours notice.

---We were told to fill out one waiver form for people at the same address, then told each person had to fill out a form separately.



When we expressed our dismay at the communications problems, the office manager manager was rude saying that it was all our fault for making assumptions and misunderstanding. When we went to the site manager, he said that it is always customers trying to get something for nothing.



Obviously, I would recommend a different vendor for boat rental and parasailing.
