I'm updating this after speaking with the district manager, thus uping my review to three stars from one. He acknowledged the issue, explained without making excuses, and will make sure ALL employees fully understand the Designer Deals program. Although it shouldn't have happened, it does sound like more of a "lack of understanding of what they were selling" than trying to pull the wool they sell over customers' eyes ;-) Here's the ORIGINAL review just FYI:.... They are running a scam where they tell you some "Designer Deals" program is free. They stressed to me it was not a credit card, it was a discount program that is FREE. It was made to sound like a store program where you earn points when you purchased. I repeatedly asked if it was free, and was repeatedly told YES. In fact, I was asked for my debit card so my rebates could be directly sent there. Since I was making a purchase, I thought it was for that purpose. Only after I'd made my purchase, etc., was I handed the receipt to sign that said I was authorizing $9.99 to be withdrawn out of my account monthly. The manager's response, "Oh, it IS free - for 30 days." I am APPALLED. It was bad enough neither of the two employees in the store at the time could answer simple sewing questions, they are LYING (or at least telling half truths to customers" about this "Designer Deals" being ABSOLUTELY FREE. How many people didn't notice on the receipt that it is $9.99 a month and are going to be in a shock when it comes out of their account(s)?
