Julie's Used Appliances

My wife and I were "referred" to Julie's because our home warranty company works through them. Our oven was out and we had previously contacted Able Appliance Service since the manufacturer recommended them. But we had to cancel the order after calling our warranty people. It has been over a week since we first called them and they still haven't fixed the oven (starting our 3rd week without one). They came up with a different diagnosis for the problem than Able did. Able claimed it was a locking mechanism (which makes sense, since the oven had permanently locked itself). Julie's claim is that the electronic faceplate shorted out. We never got a call back from either them or our warranty people. After I called the warranty people, I was informed that Julie's never contacted them because they were going to cover the cost of the new faceplate. I had to call Julie's to confirm. The next day (about 4 days after they checked out the oven), the warranty people call me to tell me that Julie's ALSO wants to fix the locking mechanism, though this is the first time I've heard of this. And, conveniently, they don't cover the locking mechanism because it is "part of the self-cleaning device" (ignoring the fact that it is also a child-safety device). I called Julie's again two days ago to see why they haven't fixed the oven yet. They weren't there, and the girl who answered the phone didn't know anything (leading me to ask, "why is she answering the phones?"). Though I left a message and they told me they would call me back that day, they have not done so.



In short, don't work with Julie's if you want to know what is going on.
