I took my son to the Doctor's urgent care & my insurance has a $40.00 co-pay for urgent care visits. When I checked out to pay, I was charged $150.40. I was told I had to pay this amount because my deductible was not met with my insurance company. I had no choice but to pay this amount. I called my insurance company the following day & was told my deductible does not apply to office visit & urgent care. I just had to pay my co-pay & should have only been charged $40.00. I called the Doctor's urgent care to get a refund & was told I would have to wait until my insurance company paid the claim. I spoke with Lisa in billing. I had my insurance company call Lisa in billing to confirm they would be paying the claim, and that I was only responsible for $40.00, and I should be refunded the difference. Lisa refused to refund me until the claim was paid for by my insurance company. She told me that I should expect a refund in January 2010. Lisa was very rude, and very cruel and seemed to get off telling me I'll receive a refund in January, I had to wait 90 days stated Lisa. She said she noted my account & for future visits I would only have to pay $40.00. Now knowing I am only responsible for $40.00 she is keeping my $110.40 from November 5, 2009 the day of service, until sometime in January 2010. My insurance card clearly states $40.00 co pay for urgent care, and my insurance company called & confirmed this information & still was refused a refund. I would not recommend using the Doctor's Urgent Care to anyone.
