I was visiting New Orleans when my truck started lurching and bucking on interstate 10. I googled a transmission shop and found Aamco Transmission in New Orleans which had several good reviews. I had AAA tow my truck over to the shop and had the Aamco people look at the truck. It turned out to be a busted cooler line and not a transmission repair. I was expecting a $3000 plus repair but instead I was back on the road for $160. Wow, what a relief! I hope I never have another Transmission problem but if I do, I hope I am near an AAMCO. I highly recommend these guys.
Since I had such a good experience at the Metairie AAMCO, I decided to give the Slidell AAMCO a try, especially since I live. I had my oil changed at the AAMCO Slidell location for $29.99. The great thing was that the guys inspected my car while doing the oil change. The mechanic explained that I had a few needed repairs but the repairs were not critical. He went on to explain that this was normal wear items and not a safety concers. Wow, No high pressure to sell me things I really did t need. Honesty and good service is a great way to run a business.
My wife car was making all types of violent movements. First thing I thought about was the transmission. My neighbor recommended Aamco so I did a little research on the Aamco shop. Mostly great reviews (can’t please everyone) so I took my wife’s 2009 Maxima expecting the worst. When the mechanics looked at the car they found a blown fuse. Apparently someone (wife) forgot to mention that she spilt a cup of coffee on the center console. They replaced the fuse and I was on my way. The best part was no charge. I highly recommend these guys.
