Horseback Riding Everyone Can Enjoy!

Located in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, right in the heart of Montgomery Co. Maryland, we offer horseback riding everyone can enjoy. Whether a new-comer to the saddle or a more advanced rider; we invite you to call or visit to learn more about Wheaton Park Stables. One of the few stables in the Washington D.C. area that offer escorted trail rides for adults and children. Escorted trail rides are available Sunday afternoons at 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm and last one hour. The cost for the trail ride is $35.00 per person. Reservations are required, and may be made no earlier than the previous Sunday. Groups of 5 or more may reserve earlier and a deposit of the total amount is required when making the reservation. We do not do lead line or pony rides. Summer horsemanship camp is open to all level riders, from beginner through jump, ages 8 to 18. The camps run in two-week session. Camp meets Monday through Friday 8 am until 12 noon. Each session includes riding lessons, grooming and horsemanship lessons, trail rides, and a bareback trip to the water hole (weather permitting) to take the horses swimming. At the end of the session, there is a horse show and a picnic for parents and guests. Gift certificates are available for Sunday trail rides and private lessons. Gift certificates can be purchased at the Stables. The best times to call are afternoons and evenings during the week and 9 to 4 on the weekend.

Wheaton Park Stables offers full care boarding. Full care board includes: * Hay, Grain and Water * Turn Out * Stall Cleaning * Use of Rings and Trails * A Tack Box All stalls have sawdust bedding and a window. Please call the stable for availability as we do not always have room. Boarders also have access to our indoor ring, our outdoor ring (as long as lessons are not taking place) and miles of park maintained trails. Wheaton Park Stables is dedicated to teaching balanced seat equitation. We believe in providing students with strong basic riding skills. All lessons and trail rides are done in the English style of riding. Group lessons are offered in 12 week series. Lessons are held once a week for an hour. We offer lessons for all riding levels, beginners through jumping. Adult lessons are held week nights at 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Children's lessons are held on Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and weekdays at 5:00 pm or 6:00 pm. Lessons are held year round in either the large outdoor arena or indoor ring. Our make-up policy allows you to schedule one make-up per series. The make-up must be scheduled in advanced in another group lesson and must be taken within the current series. A private lesson or trail ride cannot be used as a make-up lesson. Private lessons are for a 1/2 hour lesson and are open to every level rider. Semi Private Lessons Are Also Available For a 1/2 Hour Lesson
