Alverno High School is a private, Catholic, college preparatory girl s school, located in Sierra Madre, Calif. The school s curriculum includes mathematics, theology, foreign language, visual and performing arts, social studies, science, and English. The mathematics department offers introduction to computers, algebra, geometry, finite math, precalculus, advanced placement calculus, and honors geometry. Its visual and performing arts department offers classes in drawing, painting and design, computer graphics, craft and design, ceramics, advanced placement art studio, choreography, and fitness and conditioning. Alverno High School also offers physical science, biology, chemistry, physics, and electives, such as human biology, ecology, earth science, and zoology.

Actually my friends told ME about Alverno High School! Many of them have sent their daughters there, and had nothing but positive things to say. The campus is beautiful, the class sizes are small and their Christian Service program is especially impressive. It seems like every week there's a news story about some event their students are volunteering at, charity they're raising funds for, or cause they're spreading the word about. It's rare to find teenagers that are so socially aware these days. And the list of colleges that their graduates get accepted to includes places like Yale, Berkeley and UCLA! They're obviously doing something right! Parents - make sure you check out this "treasure of Sierra Madre"!
