Overpriced.

Superior Grill has served us food that was quality both times we've gone. The service was good both times we've gone. We went after church for lunch, had "typical" Mexican ware, fajitas and a taco salad, and spent about $32.00 pre-tip. The second time we went was for dinner. We eat out a lot (no kids), so we know, as do most, tgat a dinner menu is often pricier than a similar lunch menu. My wife had fajitas, as did I. We didn't look at the menu (regret that) because we felt like we had a handle on what type of place we were in, decent, but not "The Ritz-Carlton". She had chicken and shrimp fajitas. Three shrimp, five slices of chicken, two small pieces of pepper and caramelized onions, $29.95. I had the beef fajitas, $19.95. Add two unsweetened iced teas and we had $60+ dinner. Like I said, we eat out a lot, and have lived in many places, including Mazatlan, Mexico, and I have never been more surprised by a bill, ever. I could tell the waiter had trepidation forking over the bill because he knew it was outrageous. I still tipped him 25% because he was good and its not his decision to rip hard-working people off. Always look at the menu. Lesson learned.....for sure.

My wife and I stopped in Monday on our escape from hurricane Gustav and were pleasently supprised. We were seated promptly and in no time a basket of hot chips and salsa arrived. We ordered a pitcher of top shelf margaritas, most of the time these can be to sweet but these were excellent especially with Cabo Wabo tequilla ! We then split a ""combinaciones"" fajitas, these were excellent. They came sizzling and smoking to the table while everyone looked on. I could tell some nearby diners wanted to change their orders ! This came with some excellent guacomole and a buttery sourcream. As for the service....very good, we were seated promptly and our waitress Patricia took care of us. This has been by far the best dining experience since we escaped hurricane Gustav from New Orleans. This is just as good as the Superior in New Orleans. My family goes whenever we can great fajitas, margaritas, and pretty much every thing else. The waiters are all great. If it is your birthday you will here the drunken mexican happy birthday song. Any one wanting great Mexican, great service, and a hopping joint will love Superior.
