Used to be a nice place - then the "big boys" at King County took over (you know, the national-award-winning fellas) - and let me tell you - all that award winning talent must've been all used up in that ONE bulding that won the award because it sure was never used in this building. The management team placed here was taken from the garbage dump and thrown into the office marked Manager's Office. Sorry for the name-calling but in this particular case, it is definitely warranted. And speaking of warrants, I wonder how many people with out-standing warrants KCHA has allowed into Westminster since taking over the management duties? In case you are wondering, since the new manager's arrival, the new tenants have been going door to door begging for money, food, cigarettes, and alcohol. Outright stealing is now commonplace in the building since the new management team has taken over. Here's a REAL GOODY: complaints are down - you know why? Because if you complain, it is seen as, and this is a quote: "piling on". That's right. If someone does something against apartment policy (or the LAW for that matter) and you go to management with a complaint, you'll be told in no uncertain terms that you are PILING ON the tenant and your complaint is unjustified. Nothing, and I mean nothing will be done. Ah yes, "no smoking" - what does that mean here at Westminster Manor? It means the building is NOT ON FIRE!!! It has nothing to do with cigarettes as the manager doesn't give a darn as she's a smoker as well - the most she's ever done is, umm, umm, well, let's see. Hmmm? There's got to be something. Nope. Nothing. Not a thing. Even though smoking in apartments is grounds for eviction, and she has been told that it occurs, she's done nothing to follow up as again, this is piling on and she can't evict her smoking buddies, right? However, good news for you criminals and bums out there - this is the perfect place for you to apply as there are disabled people and senior citizens here that you can rob and steal from without hesitation and guess what? The management team doesn't give a damn and won't do a thing about it as it's not their problem! Woo Hoo, it's a free for all. Almost forgot - pets - NO LEASHES!!! Management (and management's bosses) allow pets to go without leashes both in the yards AND in the public areas in buildings - not a big deal you think? Think this - think of a 90 year old woman in a walker barely able to move at 1 mile an hour - then some idiot's dog is going free while the owner says, "now Buffy, isn't she cute in her walker" while the dog hits the walker and your grandmother is knocked down to the ground - oh yeah, that's a laugh riot, isn't it? Folks, don't rent here - stay away - stay far far away. If you're a kid looking for a place for his parent/grandparent, a better place would be out on the stoop or by going to Wal-Mart and buying an outdoor storage unit - throw gramps in there - it'll be a lot more humane - trust me - you'll go to heaven for the favor you do them. Living in hell here at Westminster under King County Housing Authority management.

Used to be kind of nice - King Cty took over and now it's garbage

This used to be sort of, kind of, a nice place. Then King County Housing Authority purchased it and voila, it went down the tubes. KCHA loves to use the story that they won a national award for their management of apartments - umm, folks, that was for ONE building - and that is just an exception - the rest of the buildings are "step-children" and this is the "rat" of the bunch. Okay so, what about living in the place - I live here so: supposed to be non-smoking - if by non-smoking as in the building is not on fire - then yes, it's "non-smoking" - if you want a place without cigarettes in being lit up 24/7 in the place in-doors and management doing ZERO about it, this is not the place for you. Next, safety: claims to have locked doors - secure access. If by secure-access, you mean there are walls on the building, then yes, that's true and there are doors. Other than that, umm, no. A monkey or a 4-year old could get in here. More on safety and community: people certainly are friendly...so much so that they'll come knocking on your door begging for money, cigarettes, food and booze, banging away, ringing the doorbell - whether you're disabled or 95 years old, they'll just keep hammering away. Next: Criminal background checks - this is done! Not well, but it's done. Do you receive a newspaper - good for you, it means you can read which beats 75% of the people residing here; unfortunately you'll never see your paper as it'll be stolen before you can get it each morning! But you have to wonder if that's a bad thing as it's being stolen by someone who can read...hmm? Management - as long as you never have a problem with anything, i.e., need help, then you'll be fine. As long as you never ever have a complaint about anything, then you'll be fine - here's a tiny tip: management's view of complaints is this: if you complain, you are "piling on" someone, whether it is another tenant or management or anyone - YOU are to blame, not the person that did whatever you are complaining about - unless let's say there is a spill on the carpet - in which case, DID YOU DO IT and WHY DIDN'T YOU CLEAN IT UP??? Run fast, and run far far away. Don't rent here and if you are looking for a place for your Mom or Dad, unless you hate them, look elsewhere - a street corner or garbage dump would be better. Just some place else. Best of luck.
