A salon with a warm, welcoming environment. Easy, free parking either on the street or in back. Located close to my home, I couldn't be happier finding this place to cut my hair on a regular basis. I walk in the door and am greeted by smiles and hellos by all the stylists. While seated and waiting for my appointment, I am offerred a drink (help yourself to the fridge) and a variety of reading material. It's hard for me to pick up a magazine because there are 3 different televisions airing 3 different [news, typically] programs that keep me from wanting to read. Instead of holding a magazine in my hands, I end up grabbing a handful of pretzels or licorice which works well as a snack. Finally, it's my turn and Brian calls my name...it's time to be seated. He asks me what I'd like done and I tell him, "cut it short, please." He proceeds to work his magic while my eyes are sometimes closed. I always get nervous thinking it's being cut too short, but after a relaxing shampoo and conditioning, along with a little styling, the end result is quite satisfying. If you're looking for a friendly group of people who have been cutting hair professionally for a LONG time as well as a nice, cozy environment to spend a little bit of your morning or afternoon in, I highly recommend you pay a visit to Barberia.
