Aerobics and Fitness Association of America is one of the largest fitness educators in the United States. Operational for more than 20 years, the association has issued more than 150,000 certifications for professional aerobics and fitness instructors, and allied health professionals in over 73 countries. AFAA also publishes American Fitness, a bimonthly magazine and a variety of educational materials and services, including textbooks, reference manuals and videos. It organizes various workshops and seminars throughout the U.S., and has corporate affiliates, including Resistance Wear that sponsors its core-fitness program. Aerobics and Fitness Association of America is headquartered in Sherman Oaks, Calif., and has international offices in Japan, China and Spain.
