18 On the Square

Spoiled and rotten meat that should have been throw away and never served to anyone is what I ate. 18 On The Square severely under delivered on our meal.

I had the $28 New York Strip and my mother had the $11 southern burger. The presentation was nice but the food itself, was not. Her bun was rock hard and had to be removed. And her burger was so dry she had to drink water after every bite.

My New York strip steak was at least one-third fat and gristle and difficult to choke down what appeared to be a few good bites. The server had to bring me four different knives because the meat was that tough to cut. It was also under cooked and not medium well as ordered, but medium rare as the center was entirely bloody and red.

The next day I had food poisoning, nausea, and vomiting. The steak must have been old and spoiled as the place is never busy, and the steak probably sat on the shelf for months.

This place is terrible. We were the only three in there for lunch and it took forever to get our food. Service is ridiculously slow. Spent 9 dollars on fried green tomatoes and only received 3 slices. One of the slices was really tiny. They did not offer side salads for lunch so you have to order a full salad is you want one. The fries were also super soggy. Overall this place was absolutely not worth going to. The food is terrible and it is extremely over priced.

I have told my best friends. This is a fabulous restaurant. Wonderful yet unusual pairings of delectible foods. There were six of us and we all ordered different things and tasted everything everyone ordered. Rave reviews all around. From the duck, through scallops and then fried chicken all was wonderous. If I were Duffy, and I had his words, I could be more tantilizing. But. You should go. Heavenly.
