WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE AGAIN!

out of house fly by night jeweler ruined my beautiful engagement ring by squeezing it too hard while enlarging, destroyed my pear and gold pendant by leaving it in some cleaning solution, the pearl is cracked,chipped, discolored and became soft.

They refused to do anything about either item charged me over $100 for an the enlargement and cleaning after quoting me $76

If I had been the one to pick up the items they would not have seen one red cent.

Worst job I have ever seen.

Now I'm out a one of a kind hand made pendant that I have had for over 25 years and my engagement ring looks like a diamond sitting on a string on dental floss.

I'm heartbroken.

$$ ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION $$ I went into Galleon Jewelers on 10/14/11 and after the lady behind the counter finished with her customer she promptly greeted me (hence the 1 star review) the store was clean and the displays were nice. I had a ring I no longer wear, appraised 4 years ago at $400. Clearly not expecting that as I know that's retail not scrapping price. I asked her what I could get for the ring and she gave it a quick glance put it on the scale and told me it was worth $77. I said that's a bit low. She didn't miss a beat devaluing my ring. Letting me know the 2 plus carat Garnet was scratched and I would get nothing for the 9 small diamonds surrounding it. She said it was worth weight only, if it was even 14k gold smugly. I said thank you $77 is to low took my ring and left. I understand businesses must make a profit and I'm not against them doing so- I am however against being completely ripped off. So a couple days later I took the same ring across the street in Roseland Plaza to the jewelry shop, $130 for the gold $70 for the stones. $123 above what Galleon offered. I'm just saying- know your jewelry's value and if you don't GET A SECOND OPINION!!
