Dont Try Calling
I work for a local (Seattle) fabrication shop manufacturing cabinets and the such. Since their SODO location is close in proximity to our shop we occasionally take the 5 minute trip over to pick-up different odds & ends for projects. However, whenever we are attempting to see if a certain type of product is in-stock, over the phone, the associates that answer the phone either do not know how to transfer a phone call (to the right department) or simply do not care enough to process the call and would be perfectly content in leaving someone in call waiting limbo. Avoid this trouble and simply head into the store.
Beware however that once you are inside that your troubles wont be diminished. You will see the orange aprons traveling all over the store but most are too busy to actually help someone locate a product. After heading up & down the eisles a few times you will tend to locate someone stocking merchandise that is willing to help. Note: Those helpful employees might actually not be an employee be actually a vender rep. making sure thier own product is properly displayed amonst the chaos that is the Depot. The associates that do help unfortunatly have zero training in construction or within the field where the product would be applied.
Recommendation: Ask another customer where something is (you will find the product faster) instead of wandering aimlessly for 15 mins.
My Opinion of the Depot: Good selection of low-end products, over-priced on name brands, and very poor customer service. Instead head over to a smaller & more specialized store instead (You will be supprised that most prices are lower).
